ABSTRACT

Digital Library software is a unique application that is capable of

handling books, periodicals and attachments etc. with equal ease and efficiency.

That is a web-based library management system, utilizing the latest advancement

in the information technology to provide and improve library services by
implementation of index cards, member cards, catalogue, reader statistics, items
for binding, item on display , condemned items, item on circulation , new arrivals
etc…..

Library management system (LMS) is library automation software. LMS is

designed to manage all transactions of books i.e. borrowing, renewal, returning and
fine collections etc in online basis. LMS is easy to use and install with a minimal
system requirements. This application is more helpful for educational institutions
of higher learning.

This application is being developed in order to provide a quick common method

for data retrieval with the following features like

-facility for add, edit, search, delete the books, periodicals, attachments based on
accession number, title, author, subject, periodicity, date of publication.

-simple and intuitive web for performing all functions

-security features like access control using passwords and user-roles etc……
Existing system with limitations

This project can be mainly deals with the issues of credit-cards and debit-cards,
registration of business executives and business managers. These three issues are
comes under the banking domain. Hence we can say that it is a part of a banking
system and here the banking system can be act as a existing system.

Proposed System with Features

Here we can add some more features to the existing system(banking system)

By means of setting targets and maintaining the performance details. We can

observe these things in some business organizations like corporate shopping malls
big-bazar, Hyderabad central and metro. But, where as in case of banking system
we can’t find these type of things.
