IPTV-USER MANUAL FMS

BSNL has introduced IPTV as an add-on service on Broadband. BSNL has invited bids from IPTV
service providers (IPTSP) to provide digital cable TV channels through BSNL IP network and
through BSNL's BHARAT FIBER Partner network (last mile fiber).

IPTV Service
 Cache servers of IPTV Vendor are installed locally in every Franchisee OLT location and
main Cache servers in the BSNL Network.

 IP TV Usage is not part of the normal BHARAT FIBER data usage.

 BBNW Team to complete the configurations in all the BSNL BB Network Elements
whenever a new Cache Server is installed in the Franchisee OLT location.
 Circle to give request offline to the BB NOC Team.

 IPTV will be created as a Scheme and maintained in CRM and Clarity systems, but not in
CDR Billing, as service will be charged on prepaid basis by IPTSP.

 Clarity shall insert accordingly tasks namely ONT configuration/VLAN and IPTV
Activation upon receiving the scheme. Both tasks are closed through FMS portal details.
 As technical feasibility has been tested for giving IPTV on BHARAT FIBER BB, this scheme
will be allowed on BHARAT FIBER BB only and not on DSL Broadband or BB over Wifi as
of now

 FMS has developed APIs for IPTSP for fetching requests and update IPTV activation
details to BSNL through FMS.

There are two ways the IPTV requests flow through FMS to IPTSP
1. IPTV Requests raised by franchisee on existing accounts maintained by franchisees.
2. NPC Clarity orders flowing to FMS with IPTV requests

1. IPTV Requests raised by franchisee on existing accounts maintained by franchisees.

Franchisees can raise an IPTV requests on the accounts maintained by them. These requests
can be raised only on the BHARAT FIBER BB services maintained by them. The IPTV vendor operating
in the area also has to be selected depending on the choice of the customer. The following approach
may be followed by the franchisee in raising a IPTV request.

Franchisee has to login the FMS portal and has to click menu SALES ADD IPTV SERVICE. As shown
in the following picture.

The franchisee has to make sure the VLAN configuration task is completed in the modem of the
customer before raising the request in FMS. Franchisee has to be sure that it is BHARAT FIBER BB service
and has the information of the vendor code ready with. Once the menu is clicked by the franchisee the
following page is displayed .

The franchisee has to enter the STD code and the telephone number in separate fields as shown the
above page. The fetch plan details on the right side has to be clicked . This will validate whether the
entered phone number is a valid number and the number belongs to the franchisee along with the
service type (BHARAT FIBER BB) . Once the required criterion are matched the the details like customer
name ,plan etc… are displayed so that the franchisee can ascertain the entry made. Then following page
is displayed.

Here two more fields displayed one is franchisee code and the other is IPTV vendor code. The
appropriate values are to be entered along with any comments if required. Then the record has to be
submitted by the franchisee.

2. NPC Clarity orders flowing to FMS with IPTV requests

New connection where IPTV request is given along with clarity are entered in CRM. Here IPTV is entered
as a scheme where the IPTV vendor code is also entered. The order flows through CRM to clarity and is
pushed to FMS as usual. The order is displayed in the inbox of the franchisee under “WORKPENDING
PROVISION ORDERS”. The orders which have a IPTV request are shown differently as below. There is a
indication as purple color button under “CONTACT DETAILS” column as shown below.

When the “CLOSE” order button is clicked then the details of order are shown as below. The IPTV
vendor code details, IPRV VLAN ID to be configured in the modem and IP address allotted to the IPTV
server are shown. These details are useful during modem configutation.

Along with the details to close the order, IPTV order have an extra field to be filled by the franchisee i.e
“IPTV CONFIGURATION” as “Y” or “N” as shown below. This is mandatory to close the order.

The orders thus pushed are forwarded to the IPTV service provider(IPTSP) as requests/task where
customer modem is configured ready by franchisee and IPTV service has to be activated. These are
pulled by IPTSPthrough the APIs provided by FMS and are reverse updated with actvation status and
date
