A. Research Title:
Adherence to Infection Prevention Protocol among Previously Diagnosed COVID 19
Emergency Nurses in the Adult Emergency Department of King Saud Medical City,
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
B. Sample size:
The sample size of the respondents was determined in a single population
proportion through sample size for infinity and Slovin’s formula based on the
assumption: There is no significant difference among previously diagnosed COVID-19
nurses to their infection prevention and control adherence at King Saud Medical City
Emergency Department in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The maximum
prevalence used was, population size: 76, P= 0.5, 95% confidence level, and 5% margin
of error; thus the sample size to be used is 64.

Respondents were selected from the previously diagnosed COVID 19 emergency
nurses in 2021 using a simple ransom sampling technique

B.1. Study Population.

The respondents of the study shall be composed of emergency nurses who are
assigned in the Adult Emergency Department of King Saud Medical City and were
previously diagnosed with COVID-19 in 2021.
Inclusion Criteria:
1. Emergency Registered Nurses at King Saud Medical City for at least 6
months.
2. Assigned at the Adult Emergency Department.
3. Previously diagnosed with COVID-19 at any time during the period of
January 2021 to December 2021.
4. Able to sign consent for the study.
Exclusion Criteria:
1. Registered nurses with incomplete medical records.
2. Registered nurses with missing data in their research questionnaires.
