Pure Thirsts
INTRODUCTION
 Advertising agencies surely know how to entice consumers, especially young people. They
spend large amounts of money and do research to find out what you like and what you want.
Even their TV commercials are targeted to make you feel that you are "incomplete" without
their products. Simply put, these companies know how to stir your desire to want what they
are selling. If the meek are truly happy, and are guaranteed to "inherit the earth," we should
take time to consider what this value is all about.
 However, no advertising agency can offer what is altogether satisfying. Truth is, only God
can truly provide deep satisfaction. He offers deep satisfaction for all you truly want and
desire. He promises to fill everyone's hunger and thirst for Him.
 Young people often have an insatiable desire for things. You want gadgets, apparels, and
shoes. That makes you the number one target of countless manufacturers. Most TV
commercials target people your age This is because they know something about you that,
perhaps, you do not. Once you want something, you will probably do anything to get it. But
the same could be said about your desire for purity and righteousness. Has it ever crossed
your mind that you can actually hunger and thirst for something besides tangible things?

Jesus clearly said in The Beatitudes that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be
satisfied. Later, He added that those who are pure in heart will see God.
1. Your words and your actions reveal what you are most excited about and that has
captured your heart. Those who love money will often think and speak about money. Those
who want high grades make commensurate actions in order to attain what they want. If we are
thirsty and hunger for the righteousness of God, our thoughts and words will reflect that.
2. You will do anything to satisfy your hunger and thirst. What do you normally do when you
really, really desire something? Say, there is this brand of t-shirt that really hooks your attention.
One student who wants it so badly may skip meals in order to save money to buy the shirt. An
extreme example would be someone who steals money from their parents (kupit) in order to buy
the shirt. Plainly, your thirst and desire for one thing may lead you to take extreme measures for
satisfaction. In the same way, if you develop a hunger for the righteousness of God, you will not
stop until you are satisfied.
There is a promise of satisfaction for those who truly hunger and thirst for righteousness. God
will fill them until they are satisfied. The pure in heart will see God in all situations. Here's how
you can develop hunger and thirst for righteousness, and how you can stay pure.
 Stay away from evil.
 Develop an early warning device.
 Make yourself accountable.
 Commit to do right even if it hurts.
 Develop an appetite for righteousness.
 Honor God at all times.

Pinoy Kasi

Hindi paawat or unstoppable. This is what normally happens when one is consumed with
the power of desire. If one is so compelled to have or do something, he or she often can
become unstoppable. As such, you should teach yourself to desire only what is true and
pure. If desires can compel us to action, then we should make sure that we desire and want
the right things. Therefore once the desire for righteousness is established, then nothing
should stop us from doing what is right. Indeed hindi na paawat.
