Comparative literary

Comparative literature is a work of literary comparison. There are several literary works that
are compared to the more than two literary works that are compared.

 Henry Remak (1990:1)

It is the study of literature outside the borders of the state and the study of the relationship
between literature and other fields of science and belief, such as art (painting, carving art, and
musical arts), philosophy, history, and social sciences (such as political economy, sociology),
science, religion, and others.

The meaning of understanding according to Henry is that we will see or study literature
outside the country and not limited by a particular place or country. Not just in one country. And
it means that comparative literature can compare literary works with religion. Examples in
Indonesia, such as poetry that is considered to blaspheme certain religions.

 Thaha Nada (1990:9)

It is a study or study of literature of a nation that has historical links with other nations,
how the process of affecting each other, what has been taken by a literary, and what has been
donated. From the understanding of Nada we know that comparative literature is a scientific
study in literary science. And one literary in one nation has a literary in another, the example at
indonesian literature has a relationship with the Arab nation. Example: a famous novel by Najib
Kealani egyptian writer entitled "Gadis Jakarta ", tells the condition of the Indonesian state, and
the phenomena or events of the G30s pki. And instead there is an example of the indonesian
novel titled "Ayat-ayat Cinta" by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, which tells the story of the love
between Fahri and Aisyah set in the egyptian state. So that the core meaning of comparative
literature according to Nada is the literature of a nation that has ties with other nations because
the possibility in it there is a process that influences each other that can be known from
comparative literature.
