Scenario 2:
ENTOne of the teachers in Dela Paz Elementary School was
suffering from domestic violence. Allegedly, her husband was having
an affair with other women, resulting in the withdrawal of financial
support for their three (3) children. The teacher wants to take some
time off to file a case against her husband, but she is worried that she
has already incurred too many absences, leaving her with no more
service credits. What will you advise the teacher?
Since the teacher is a victim of violence and has been abandoned by her
children, she is eligible for the 10-day Leave of Absence under RA No. 9262, the
Violence Against Women and Their Children Act. By doing this, the instructor can
accuse her husband without having to worry about her absences.

Scenario 3:
Teacher Anthony is a Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL)
teacher in Sto. Tomas Senior High School. During his demonstration
teaching, an accident happened due to a short circuit. He was rushed
to the hospital. The doctor advised him to leave work for 2 weeks.
What benefits is he entitled to?

Because the injury occurred while Teacher Anthony was carrying out his duties at
school, he is qualified for the Rehabilitation Leave. According to Section 1 of the CSC
DBM Joint Circular No. Teacher Anthony will be eligible for this benefit in 2006, at which
time his absences from work during the period of his rehabilitation privilege will not be
subtracted from his accrued sick or vacation leave credits. Additionally, he is entitled to
compensation for any first aid costs incurred during his medical treatment, ideally at a
government facility.

holistic being of the learners to become productive citizens of the nation. It ensures
teachers just compensation, incentives, benefits, and rewards for them to live a
decent life. As a new member of the DepEd family, how can you show appreciation
to this effort of the government?
As a new DepEd teacher, I am extremely appreciative of the government
advantages that all educators enjoy. Gratitude stems from the fact that the government
never abandoned us despite the pandemic we are all currently experiencing. The benefits
that we deserve are still being provided by them. I sincerely hope that the day will come
when all of the benefits for teachers will improve and none more will leave for another
nation.

How did you deal with challenges on the first days of reporting in your

Like other firsts in my life, I had a mix of excitement and apprehension on my first
day as a teacher. I tried not to worry too much, though, and reminded myself that even
the most seasoned instructors experience initial anxiety when working with new
students. I learned a lot about myself and about what it meant to be a teacher through

idea to consider all aspects of a challenge. Write down a list of all the possible solutions
to a problem, even the ones that do not seem feasible. You can then choose the
solution that seems best from that list. If you are in a management role, you will need to
know when to delegate a challenge to another member of your team. Not only does
delegation help your workload, but it also allows employees to learn new skills and stay
motivated. Try to divide each challenge into smaller pieces that you can complete
instead of trying to do everything at once. This can assist you in tracking progress and
identifying barriers to your project completion.

Processing Questions:
1. What challenges did you encounter in your first days? Input your answer here.
The first difficulty I ran across on my first day of school was transportation. The
school is located in an island and the trip there is really tough. The second is my initial
thoughts about my fellow teachers. I'm hesitant to speak with them because I'm so
bashful. Third is culture, the place where my school is located is quite far from the main
land and their culture is way different that mine. Language barrier is one of those
because I am pure tagalog and they speak a fluent Visaya.

2. How did you overcome these challenges? Input your answer here.

In terms of transportation, I decided to rent a house and stay there for a week. In
terms of culture, I tried to adjust and learn their language little by little.

3. Did you rely on a specific person or people? How did you seek help? Input your
answer here.

Yes, I need the help of my co teachers to adjust on the situation. I need to digest the culture of my
new community.

His handling of conflicting tasks is the main source of his stress. He can talk to the
