INTRODUCTION
Community Broadband Center(CBC) is one of the governments project with an initiative by Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) This project was conducted by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and MSD Digital Intelligence under the Universal Service Provider (USP) program and it is focusing on providing ICT services to the community in the rural areas

OBJECTIVE
To provide internet service access to the local community To expose the local community about the important of computer and the internet usage To improve the uses of Internet Broadband To improve local community socio-economy through the facilities and activities organize at the CBC To bridge the digital divide between rural and urban area community suitable with the government objective

SERENDAH
Is one of a small town located in Hulu Selangor Located 7km from Rawang town and 18km from Bukit Beruntungs toll There are five area in Serendah which are Serendah, Sungai Buaya, Sungai Choh, Bukit Sentosa and Bukit Beruntung Total population : 20, 436 people

ADMINISTRATION

All of administrative and financial work Manager and Assistant Manager Petty cash must not exceed RM 300.00 per month Only Manager and Assistant can withdraw the money at CBC with both agreement Recording all the inflow and outflow money File updating

RESPONSIBILITY
Surrounding cleanliness & tools Manager collective responsibility & assistant to ensure the CBC is clean and safety Damage report In 24 hours (proads.msd.net.my) Maintenance Manager & assistant responsibility. Maintenance like scan computer every two days, checking the websites of customers surfing everyday, defragment file (needed), backup ums system everyday

Services Record at CBC Each of services at CBC will be recorded for monitoring and statistic purpose Among the services are: i. Computer / internet / WiFi usage Record ii. Services Record (printing, copying, scanning, laminating and binding etc) iii.Daily / Monthly Financial Record iv.Training / Workshop / Activities conducted by CBC v. Member Registration Record vi.Inventory Record (out / in) and Damage Record vii.Promotional and Awareness Program Record viii.Meeting Record

PERIOD of COMPUTER USAGE AND TRAINING


Usage period : Peak hours (Friday until Sunday as well as School Holidays) 1 hour until 1 hour 30 minutes Normal hour depend on customers Training/Workshop period: 1 hour 30 minute until 2 hours

PROMOTIONAL / AWARENESS PROGRAMMES


PROMOTION : Banner (hanging at PJK and strategic areas) Promotion material (Distributed fliers and brochures to all villages through JKKK, Headman and CBCs Committee Liaise and coordinate with relevant party to conduct training or seminars Participates in all events and activities conducted by JKKK, Headman, Organizations

AWARENESS : Many program will be conducted by joint workshop with: Government agencies NGOs Private companies Schools and kindergartens Headman and JKKK Participate in monthly meeting of village and activities/programs in Serendah.

FREE training is provided to registered members. Learning of basic computer : Basic computer component, software, how to

switch on & off computer , advantages of computer. Internet search engine, introduction to website, image editing, email and Electronic application (service online) Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
