VIRTUES OF DUROOD
Ubay bin Ka’ab ഏ reports that, I asked, “ ‘O Rasulullaah ഏ I would like to recite much
durood upon you, how much of the time that I have set aside for dua’a shall I use for
it?’ Rasulullaah ഏ replied ‘As much as you wish’. I said, ‘Then I shall use one quarter
thereof. Rasulullaah ഏ said, ‘It is as you wish, and if you increase beyond that it shall
be better for you’. I said ‘In that case I shall make a half of the time’ Rasulullaah ഏ
said, ‘It is as you wish, and if you increase beyond that it shall be even better for you’.
I said ‘In that case I shall make two thirds of the time’ Rasulullaah ഏ said, ‘It is as you
wish, and if you increase beyond that it shall be even better for you’. I said O
Rasulullaah ഏ ‘I make the intention now that I shall set aside all the time of dua’a for
durood upon you’. Rasulullaah ഏ replied ‘In that case all your worries shall be
removed and your sins forgiven”. (Tirmidhi, Ahmed and Haakim)
Abu Darda ഏ reports that Rasulullaah ഏ said, “Whoever recites durood on me ten
times in the morning and ten times in the evening shall receive my intercession on the
Day of Qiyaamah”. (Tabrani)
