• Cleaned missing weather data by linear or spline interpolation and eliminated building meter reading data
errors by doing literature review and developing a function for 1500 buildings
• Developed models of metered building energy usage, including chilled water, electricity, hot water, and steam
meters by Support Vector Machine, some high dimensional regression and random forest to predict the
building energy usage, inspiring decision makers to reduce energy consumption in these buildings
Duke University | Power Market Emission Reduction Plan 04/2019
• Developed an optimal dispatch model with Excel employing renewable energy in the model while satisfying the
emission reduction goal and minimizing the generation cost
• Compiled a report to analyze the performance of model under different scenarios and employ sensitivity analysis
to address potentially changing natural gas price
Duke University | Building Energy Project 11/2018
• Collected and analyzed the performance of different buildings on campus respect to their uses of the different
types of energy (chilled water, steam and electricity) in 5 years
• Calculated how much did the renovations reduce CO2 emissions, save energy usage and reduce cost to help
building manager with future retrofitting programs
Project & Research
Duke University | Master’s Project: North Carolina Swine 10/2019-05/2020
• Estimated the gallons of manure produced of each farm from the agricultural permitting information and
calculate the Effective Manure Index for each household based on the location data from InfoUSA
