Statement of Purpose

Introduction
I feel glad that I got this opportunity to introduce myself through this platform of Visa processing. My name is
Navpreet, and I am from Karnal, Haryana, India which is being named after a great warrior, one of the protagonists
of Hindu epic Mahabharata, “Daanveer Karna”. As the great Karna was always in search of learning more about
himself, I am on the verge of exploring learnings for myself so that I can get to know more about me and do well in
my life afterwards. I did all my schooling from my hometown, living together with my family and now I wish to see
new avenues life can bring along.
I always wanted to gain practical skills like self-confidence, imaginative and cognitive thinking, task management
and completion skills etc. and I found Business studies is an impeccable option for me as it will further help me to
expand my horizon.
I have secured admission to a Bachelor of Business program at Queensland University of Technology. The full-time
three-year degree program which commences on 21st November 2022 and tentatively ends on 30th June 2025.
Since I availed an acceptance letter and to persist in my further admission process, I appeal to you to grant me a
Study Permit Visa for my intended course.

Family Background
I live in a nuclear family with my parents. I am a single child and being one, everyone has high hopes on me so that
I can do better in my life. My parents have been very supportive, and they never failed to get an enormous
guidance for me. My father is an agriculturist, and my mother is a homemaker, who looks after us lovingly. Though,
they did not get a chance to study much in their lives, their thought process and support always gave me a positive
affirmation to do well in life. I thrive on knowing more in my life just like the great Karna and would like to hit the
bullseye in each phase of my life events. I saw how my parents did everything beyond their reach just to give me
better education and support in my life and I, up to some extent, would like to do something for them and make
them proud. I want them to feel immense proud and belonging when they introduce me with someone as their
son.

Academic Background
I completed Grade 10 (AISSE) under Central Board of Secondary Education with an aggregate of 62% in 2018 and
then I pursued, Grade 12 (AISSCE) under Central Board of Secondary Education getting an aggregate of 68%. I
always wanted to study business and that’s why, I did my Grade 12 in Commerce stream including subjects like
Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, and Informatics Practices which made me leap into my future goals. To
achieve my dream career goals, I pursued a one-year Diploma in Business Administration and Management Studies
from Kurukshetra with a total aggregate of 80% in 2021. It helped me to create a strong foundation and prepared
me for further studies in Australia.
Now, to sustain and live my dreams, I wish to pursue Bachelor of Business program at Queensland University of
Technology which is a full-time three-year program.

Financial Establishment
My father will be my sole and only sponsor for my education in Australia. Our family income is through agricultural
activities and sums up to INR ____________ with other INR ________________ moveable and immovable assets
value. My father has already paid my tuition fee of amount 15,550 AUD according to my offer letter and has
savings of INR ______________ to cover my overall course fee and living expenditures in Australia. In lieu of
transparency, my transaction receipts and other financial documents are attached with my application.

Language Proficiency
My schooling with English as the medium of education and instruction, added to my proficiency and helped me
score well in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in February 2021 with an overall 6.0 bands with
a dissociative of Listening: 6.0 bands, Reading: 6.0 bands, Writing: 5.5 bands and Speaking: 6.0 bands.
Reasons for Choosing Bachelor of Business
The most important reason for choosing this business program as my degree was my fanatical interest of gaining
business management skills and capabilities as I always wanted to pursue academics which will add to my overall
personality as well other than my educational and career aspirations. I always wanted to do something of my own
in my life and this three-year Business program will give me practical experience through their experienced award-
winning curriculum and lecturers. This degree will give me real-world experience apart from theoretical knowledge
and help me develop my business skills to thrive in my career, either locally or globally. Slowly and gradually, I will
develop generic skills like self-confidence, critical thinking, collaborative skills, task management and decision
making so that I can develop a good business-oriented mindset.
In addition, I’ll a chance to tailor my business degree to meet my career and life aspirations as I get to choose from
12 major study areas including Accounting, Advertising, Behavioral Economics, Economics, Entrepreneurship and
Innovation, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management,
Marketing and Public Relations: along with second majors, minors, and electives.
In these modern times, where the world needs people to step up and create employment not just for themselves
but for others too, so a professional three-year degree program would enable me to develop entrepreneurial
mindset which will enhance opportunities for me and people around me. The strategic decision-making skills will
lead me to effectively start or manage national or global organizations of all sizes and structures. Management is
the backbone of every successful society by being an effective leader, influencing others' behaviors, and motivating
them to meet their full potential.

Reasons for Choosing Australia over India

From the very first day, I was sure to pursue my education in Business module. Though Indian institutions offer
great value curriculum theoretically but lacks exposure to the real-world scenario. I went through the curriculum
structure of renowned institutions like University School of Business of Chandigarh University in Punjab,
Unitedworld School of Business in Gujarat and Athena School of Management in Maharashtra but found a major
loophole of not getting much industry exposure as required and is archaic. I was not intrigued by the course
structure of countries like USA, UK and Canada universities as their fee structure and living expenditure is high
compared to Australia.
Australia’s education system is well-known for its global recognition and excellence. The main reason behind
choosing Australia is their quality education, affordability, and robust environment. As per QS Global Rankings
2021, five B-schools in Australia have been ranked among the top 100 business schools in the world. Australian
government itself, has invested over 300 million AUD in scholarships for international students. After a few months
of research, I concluded that Australia has some of the best institutions of higher education in the world. One of
the most fascinating aspects of Australia for its international students is the emphasis on real-world exposure and
industry experience as compared to my home country.
Apart from the tremendous learning and exposure, Australia’s weather is great and mostly stays pleasant
throughout the year which makes it an appropriate place to live. Therefore, considering all the aforementioned
factors into account, I believe Australia is the greatest choice for me.

Reasons for Choosing Queensland University of Technology

After going through the curriculum and other offerings of many universities, I found that Queensland University of
Technology is the best for me as it is equipped with a robust environment, diversified curriculum, affordable fee
structure, award-winning faculty members and lecturers, and the best amenities for international students. Also,
this university is equally focused on academic growth as well as practical exposure for its students. This aspect, in
turn, will help me better understand the proposed business program I opted for. Other than Queensland University
of Technology, I considered other institutions as well but found QUT best among the rest based on following
parameters:
- Central Queensland University was ranked in between 601-650 in 2022 and is continuously on decline,
Southern Cross University was in between 751-800 whereas Queensland University of Technology ranked
213 in the same year.
 - QUT Business Program is accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, making it one of three triple-accredited
schools in Australia and one of only 100 in the world. Because of its 'Triple Crown Accreditation', QUT is
placed among the top 1% of Business Schools globally.
- Though CQ University and Southern Cross University accepts application with overall IELTS 6.0 band along
with Queensland University of Technology, but looking at their individual academic offerings, the same
kind of tuition fee and a huge fall in their recent rankings, I opted for QUT.
Thus, after a thorough research, I decided to opt and study only at Queensland University of Technology.

Prospects and Plans

The three-year business degree program will open a plethora of opportunities either as a member of staff or as an
entrepreneur. I can work into Financial Quantitative, Treasurer and Controller, Project Management, Regulatory
Affairs, Fund Investment, Actuaries, Compliance Management, Risk Management, Marketing etc. and gain
maximum knowledge and exposure to dig deep into the business skills.
My short-term goal is to achieve the proposed degree with good grades, develop generic skills, imbibe all the real-
world exposure and industry knowledge to work in a multinational exquisitely. After completion of my degree, I
have all intend to return to my homeland not just as a professional but overall, as a leader so that I can help myself
and people around me. With a GDP of $3.1 trillion, India is the world's sixth-largest economy. The country has one
of the highest GDP growth rates in the world. India's GDP will likely grow by 8-8.5% in FY22, according to the 2021-
22 Economic Survey. India’s contribution to economic global growth was 8.0%.
My initial goal is to procure a well-reputed job in a multinational so that I can get maximum knowledge and
industry experience before making a foray into entrepreneurship. My goal is to be an entrepreneur with a novel
concept so that I can generate employment for generations to come and support my country’s overall economic
growth.

Visa Conditions
I have thoroughly studied the visa conditions that I need to fulfill. I give my consent to each:
8105 - I cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight when my course is in session.
8202 - I must remain enrolled in my registered course, maintain enrollment in my registered course of the same
level, and maintain satisfactory attendance in my course.
8501 - I must maintain my OSHC.
8516 - I should maintain sufficient financial capacity for the duration of the visa.
8533 - I must inform my education provider of my address within seven days after reaching Australia and my
updated address if I change my address in Australia.

Conclusion
I am quite assertive to complete this program with due diligence and I know that this opportunity of studying at
Queensland University of Technology will be a turning point of my life and will lead me to a profound career and
entrepreneurship roadmap. I kindly request Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection to kindly
grant me student visa to begin my journey at Queensland University of Technology as this coursework will be a key
