2. BREEZE is known as gentle wind.
3. SEA BREEZE occurs during daytime. SEA BREEZE
4. LAND BREEZE occurs during nighttime.
5. Air move FROM HIGH PRESSURE AREA TO LOW PRESSURE AREA.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
In our previous lesson you have already the idea how wind moves, it is from High Pressure area to low pressure area. This
movement signifies something in our country. One movement signals the frequent rains in our country and the other one signifies
that Christmas is coming.

GUIDE QUESTIONS:

1. Base from what we watch, what two events was featured?

2. What are the two major wind system being mentioned in the video clip?
3. What do you call to these two wind movement?
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson
 PRESENTING OBJECTIVES:
 S7ES-IVg-8 : Describe the effects of certain weather systems in the Philippines
1. Identify the two kinds of monsoon.
2. Trace the formation and movement of northeast and southwest monsoon.
3. Appreciate how the monsoons affect people.
 OVERVIEW OF MONSOON

Using your idea about the movement of the wind, let us trace the formation and movement of northeast and southwest monsoon
by filling up the blank map with arrows that will indicate the direction of movement of the wind and answer the guide questions
that follows.
ACTIVITY 1: HOW DO I MOVE? (INTEGRATIVE APPROACH- Araling Panlipunan: Kontinente Lokasyon)/ Constructivist
Approach/ ICT INTEGRATION

DIRECTION:
1. Draw the direction of the wind movement in the two figures using arrows. (CONSTRUCTIVIST APPROACH). You
can access the diagram in the messenger/ drive/ QR CODE (ICT INTEGRATION) or using the printed activity sheet.
2. Identify where is the North (N) and South (S) and where is Russia and Australia. (AP7HAS-Ib-1.2) ARALING
PANLIPUNAN.

GUIDE QUESTIONS: (INQUIRY- BASED APPROACH)

1. In figure 1, in what direction do wind blows?
2. In figure 2, in what direction do wind blows?
3. Which figure represent the Northeast monsoon?
4. What is northeast monsoon? How does it form (HOTS QUESTION)?
5. Which figure represent the Southwest monsoon?
6. What is southwest monsoon? How does it form (HOTS QUESTION)?

 Discuss additional information about monsoons.

DIRECTION: Study the infographic about northeast and southwest monsoon
and answer the questions below.

1. Which monsoon brings a lot of rains?

Why do you say so?(HOTS QUESTION)
2. Which monsoon brings little rain?
Why do you say so?(HOTS QUESTION)

ACTIVITY 3: IT’S RAINING MEN!
Direction: Study the two pictures that shows the amount of rainfall we receive from the Month of June and from the month of
January. The answers the questions below.

1. In what month do we receive a great amount of average rainfall?

2. In what month do we receive lesser amount of average rainfall?
3. What monsoon do you think brings a great amount of average rainfall during the month of June? How about the
monsoon that brings lesser amount of average rainfall during the month of January?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: giving information about the rainfall warning signals we have and precautionary measures
to do.

F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment)

To summarize what you have learned, answer the following. Say TRUE if the statement is correct and False if it is
not correct.
1. The wind moves from a high-pressure area toward the low-pressure area.
2. There are two types of monsoons: Southwest monsoon and Northeast monsoon.
3. From July to September, the southwest monsoon or habagat comes from the southwest and moves toward the
north.
4. From October to March, the northeast monsoon or amihan comes from the northeast and moves toward the south.
5. The monsoons such as hanging amihan and hanging habagat affect the lives of the Filipinos.
G. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living.
How do these wind systems affect people’s lives in your local area?
