ABSTRACT
Year: 2020-2021
The study wants to know the level of proficiency in Advance trim and stability of
the 3rd year BSMT students. The researcher used the descriptive method of
research in the study. To get the data needed the study used questionnaire and
grades of the respondent from the registrar of the 30 3" year BSMT students.
The data was analyzed and interpreted using tables and in narrative form.
From the data gathered the following findings and conclusion was drawn:
Based from the gathered data, most of the respondents ages 21-23 yrs. old, 5
Females and the rest were male with 2 married students.
8
From the findings and conclusion the following recommendation was given:
Instructors should explain clearly the methods especially learning the subject
during online class is hard. Hence, the instructor may use a plan B or a video of
an instructor while he or she discussing the lesson that may send to every
student who are unstable connection which cannot follow the in the discussion
during online Class.

CHAPTER I
Introduction
Advanced trim and stability can be deemed as one of the most important
areas of focus in ship design and operation, not only to ensure the safety of the
ship, cargo, crew and passengers, but also to enable proper conditions for
ship, and slowly transition into an introduction of ship stability. Once that is done,
we will see how the concepts are applied in real-time and probable situations to
analyse the stability of the ship, how a designer applies concepts of hydrostatics
denied that learning the said subject will be challenging and this is one of the
most important skills onboard. Advanced trim and stability has been playing a

CHAPTER II
Ship's stability is one of the most important and complex concept about
safety of ship and safety of navigation and it is governed by maritime law as well
as maritime codes. The paper presents the importance of ship's intact stability as
between ship' stability and safety of ship and safety of navigation. Loss of ship's

the possible ways of stability failures are assessed. Vessel's intact stability is a

people on board the ship. Understanding ship's stability, trim, stress, and the

masters and officers on board vessel in order to understand the factors that
contribute to ship stability failure during the voyage not only in port during
loading operations and to take preventive measures to avoid to put the ship in
loss of ships and lives. Ships design and construction also suffered a great deal of
the fact that the variety of cargo carried by ships increased, cargo which also
needed to be improved. In the last decade, losing the stability of the ship created
significant trouble especially due to the different ways in which such a situation
happened. This is why attention needed to be paid to each one of this ways
separately and also considering the context of rough seas. Therefore, the new
ships were confronted with large amplitude rolling caused by parametric rolling,
relevant for large container vessels. Even though from a theoretical point of view
these dangers were very well known in the past, it was only recently that further
led to loosing cargo and ships sometimes even affecting human lives.
The stability of the ship is important because no matter what, you cannot
protect the same from a bad weather. If the ship is not stable enough it cannot
survive a storm. We will now in this short article discuss about what is ship trim
The shape and the design of the ship is a very important to ensure the
stability of the same. The ship trim is the difference between the forward draft
and the aft draft. This ensures that the ship is stable no matter what the
situation is. However, the calculation is not as simple as it looks like. There are
The general idea on what are ship trim and its effect on ship stability. It is
indeed a very important factor that maintains the stability of the ships when in
the high sea. Especially in the time of rough weather the ship trim is of really
