Loading Procedure of E-BOOT and BSP

DA9000/DA 15K

Step O - Installation SAM-BA


Install the SAM-BA tool from ATMEL

Step 1 - Remove the screws indicated in the circles.

Step 5 - connect the cable "DEBUG"
Connect the serial cable "DEBUG"

Step 7 - Connect the power supply
Connect the power supply (12VDC). Respect polarity: red(+), black(-).

Step 8 - Connect the USB cable


Connect the USB cable.

Step 9 - Start SAM-BA program
Start SAM-BA program.
Select connection = "\USBserial\COMx"
Select Board = at91sam9263-ek
Click on the button "Connect"

Step 10 Load EBOOT


Select the tab "NANO/Flash"
Insert in the field "Address": 0x20000
Insert in the field "Scripts": Enable NandFlash.
Press "Execute"

Select the file "EBOOT_xx_xx_xxxx.nb0" and click on the button "S end File".
Wait about 10 second for the EBOOT overwriting.

When finished, switch off the


logger. Close SAM-BA program

Installation of BSP with hardware ECC

Write NAND
Connect the adapter to the Ethernet port on your PC.
Set the properties of your PC ethernet adapter: "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" in Control
Panel > network connections> Ethernet (right) > Property so you have a static IP. For example:

Install, if not already done, the program CEDownloader.exe, and run the program.

With the open folder button (located next to the "image file") select and open the NK_xx-xx
xxxx.bin file and press Start.

Replace the jumper JP17 previously removed on the Logger.

Start Terminal (Hyperterminal) connected to Debug serial by setting the speed to 115,200, 8 bit, no
parity, lstop.

Tum on the logger and press the space bar as soon as you see the message :
Press [ENTER] to download now or [SPACE] to cancel.

Set parameters as below:

Press the d) button and wait for it to finish the loading procedure.

The datalogger automatically restarts at the end of the upload process.
Switch OFF the logger and remove Ethernet and serial communication cable from the logger.

Rebuild Folders and files structure of datalogger

Switch ON the logger

Copy, if necessary, both the DA9000 and TOOLS directory (previously copied from
another logger or downloaded from SIAP+MICROS FTP area *) into the folder
\NandFlash.

Rename properly both the CNF_DAxxxx.xml and INI_DAxxxx.xml files according the
logger type you're working with.

Go to folder \NandFlash\DA9000 and copy the program START.EXE, then go to folder


\NandFlash\Windows\Startup and paste a shortcut of START.EXE.

Set properly the Clock time zone to Monrovia, Reykjavik . Press the Suspend button
(Start I Suspend) to store the set setup, then press once the Stand by OFF button
present on the left side of logger.

APPENDIX1
The DEBUG cable is a three wires RS-232 serial cable made with a 9 pin D-SUB female connector and a
three pin 2,54 Socket strip (female). See image below:

IMPORTANT: when connected to the datalogger, the pin 2 is the one close to the internal box side.
