ORGANISATION

COURSE OBJECTIVES
 To provide an understanding of the human resources.
 To Demonstrate an understanding of key terms, theories/concepts and practices within the field of IHRM
 To Understand an in-depth knowledge of specific IHRM-related theories, skills and practices.
 To Identify and appreciate the significance of ethical issues in HR practices and the management of
people in the workplace.
 To identify and to evaluate social, cultural, ethical and environmental responsibilities and issues in global
contexts.

COURSE OUTCOMES
After completion of the course, the students will be able to
CO1-Understand issues, opportunities and challenges pertaining to international HRM.
CO2-Understand the strategic and functional roles of HRM in various international contexts, especially in
areas such as recruitment and selection, performance management, training, learning and development,
career management, compensation, motivation and repatriation.
CO3-Understand external forces that have the potential to shape international HRM.
CO4-Develop competency in dealing with cross cultural situations.
CO5-Develop generic and transferable skills-especially in diagnosing international HRM issues critically.

Introduction - Concepts and characteristics of knowledge based organization- Knowledge Boundaries
Adopting knowledge based Approach-Steps towards knowledge based organization – linking human
behaviour and knowledge.

UNIT II PERFORMANCE MEASURING IN KBO (12 Hrs)


Managing Knowledge for organizational effectiveness – Process and Methods; Concept of Intellectual
Capital and Learning Orientation in the Organizations; Knowledge and Role related issues; Performance
Appraisal in a KBO – Discussion.

UNIT III MANAGING RETENTION IN KBO (12 Hrs)


Managing Knowledge and OPH (Personnel and Organizational Health); Rewarding Knowledge;
Management of Retention and KBO.

UNIT IV TOOLS TO HANDLE KBO (12 Hrs)


ICTs in HRM in KBO: HRIS for a KBO – Concept, Mechanics, and Software Orientation; Performance
Management – Mechanics and One Illustrative Process.

UNIT V CASE STUDY (12 Hrs)


Comprehensive Case Study on HRM in a KBO – Collection and Compilation of the material by the
participants under the guidance of the Resource Person.
