tells what the noun or pronoun does. Some
examples of action words are jump, dance,
play, and etc.”

MOTIVATION Activity Time!
“Before we start our discussion, let’s have a
group activity. This activity is called
“Match-A-Word”.
“Yes, ma’am!
“Are you ready class?”
Here’s the instruction:
1. Group yourselves according to your
row.
2. Each group will choose a
representative pick slips of papers
that contain word on each.

3. Every representative will be given 1


slip of paper. After, all the
representatives of each group will
come in front of the classroom.
4. All the representatives of each group
must interact with each other to
make a sentence by placing
themselves in the correct order.
5. A group who will make a correct (The students will participate in

A. Presentation of the Today, our new lesson is all about active


Lesson and passive voice. So, what is active and
passive voice?
First, let’s define what voice is. In a
sentence, the relationship of the subject to
the verb is called the voice.

from active to passive voice and
vice versa.
 In passive voice, the passive verb is
in the past participle form and it is
always introduced by the different
forms of the auxiliary verb “be”: am,
is, are, being, was, were, been.
Simple Present Tense
A: Knoxx prepares his meals.
P: His meals are prepared by Knoxx
himself.
Simple Past Tense
A: Royce informed his clients on the status
of their order.
P: His clients were informed by Royce on
the status of their order.
Simple Future Tense
A: The students will submit their project
tomorrow.
P: Their project will be submitted by the
students tomorrow.
Present Perfect Tense
A: The school has begun face-to-face
classes.
P: Face-to-face classes have begun in the
school.
Past Perfect Tense
A: The principal had given the teachers
permission to run face-to-face classes.
P: Permission to run face-to-face classes
had been given by the principal to the
teachers.
Future Perfect Tense
A: Alonzo will have baked the cookies
before he leaves.
P: The cookies will have been baked by
Alonzo before he leaves.

V. APPLICATION “To test your understanding, let’s have


another activity.”
Instruction:
1. Class will sing “Row, Row, Row
Your Boat”, a song by The
Countdown Kids and The
Countdown Singers.
2. The student will pass the folded
cardboard while singing the song.
Once the first stanza of the song
ended, whoever holds the cardboard
will answer the question/activity.
3. A student needs to identify what
voice of the verb is in the given
sentence-a passive or active voice.
4. The process will be repeated until on

VI. EVALUATION Individual Activity: ½ crosswise


Instruction: Determine the voice of each sentence and change it to the other
form. Write A if the sentence is an active voice and change it to make it
passive; otherwise, write P if the sentence is in a passive voice and change it
to make it active.

VII. ASSIGNMENT Directions: Enjoy reading the short story of “Clever Thief”, and perform what
is being asked below.

Devan was regarded a clever thief. He robbed the rich and gave all to the sick
and the needy. The other thieves were jealous of him. They planned to get rid
of him. They challenged to steal the King’s pyjamas.
Devan accepted the challenge. After that he prepared to execute the new
challenge. He charted out a plan to steal the King’s pyjamas. He prepared
himself mentally to carry out a plan.
He went to the King’s palace. He found the King sleeping. He opened a bottle
of red ants on the bed. The King was badly bitten. He cried for help. The
servants rushed in. they pretended to look for ants. Devan removed the King’s
pyjamas and escaped. Other thieves were dumbfounded.
They accepted Devan as their leader.
