About the Language Packs Service

Cloud Service Type All Fusion Cloud Applications

Typical Frequency Once per language
You file a Service Request (SR) through My Oracle Support (MOS). Oracle
Fulfillment Method
Support works with you to ensure the request is fulfilled.
Language pack enablement is done during the 2nd, 4th, or 5th Friday of the
month.
You can request language pack enablement for any month, even if you’re
on a quarterly Update schedule.
When to Submit SR
You’ll need to submit the SR and fully resolve any open questions or issues
by the Tuesday before the Friday the language pack is enabled.

Note: In the Middle East, enablement occurs on Thursdays.

The amount of environment downtime depends on the number of language
packs installed:
Maximum Downtime  For 1 language pack, up to 5 hours of downtime is required
for Target
 For 2 language packs, up to 8 hours of downtime is required
Environment
 For 3 or more language packs, n*3 hours downtime is required,
where n is the number of language packs

Fulfillment Considerations
 Only enable the language packs you need to conduct day-to-day business.
o Enabling language packs requires time and resources, so you might experience
unnecessary extended outages during updates if you enable language packs that are not
used. This is especially the case once you have four or more language packs enabled.

3
 You can’t disable language packs that are enabled.
 Enable language packs before final User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
 Language pack requests will be scheduled for all your environments to ensure that the
environments remain in synch for environment refresh. Plan ahead.
o Language packs will be applied on both production and test environments on the same
day.
o There is no limit to the number of language packs that can be requested in one service
request.

How to Request Language Packs

File a Service Request (SR) to request that one or more language packs be enabled on all your Oracle
Cloud Applications Service environments.

For detailed steps on how to file an SR, review the Submitting a Cloud Service Request (SR) article,
available on My Oracle Support (Doc ID 2120276.1). When you file your request, questions specific to
this Cloud Service will guide you through the process.

How to Validate Service Fulfillment

Confirm that the desired language is installed in all of your environments and works per expectation.
