Internship Experience at Sabre 2022

Sabre was my first step into the corporate world. Interning at Sabre has been an extremely
pleasant and exciting journey. It has been full of learnings and experiences that are hard to
come by.

It all started with the Intern Bootcamp. The Bootcamp kicked off with various sessions related
to the work at Sabre, taken by the industry experts. Getting to know so much about the
company, what it does and more importantly - how it does it, was indeed an eye-opener.
Alongside these sessions, we were guided to implement the learnings in a project.

The last leg of the bootcamp was the three-day hackathon. We were given some themes to
choose from and had to build a project on the same. During the project, we got to interact with
a ton of people working in different domains, which was very insightful. Also, this hackathon
gave us an amazing opportunity to get to know the other interns who had joined from all over
India.

Post the hackathon, we were assigned to our teams. I was assigned to a team in GetThere in the
Customer Touchpoints Department of Travel Solutions. In simple words, GetThere is a
corporate travel management solution which helps the corporations handle their travels easily.
GetThere is a big product and has a lot of teams within it. But it has always felt as if it's one big
team because the people are so helpful and understanding. Within GetThere, I worked on
multiple projects which included development, documentation, testing, etc.

Apart from the work in GetThere, I along with the other interns in GetThere got a chance to
work on an exciting blockchain project. It was an open-source project under the Hyperledger
Challenge. Because of this project, I got to work on blockchain technology, which had always
fascinated me.

With Sabre, I got a chance to work on a wide array of tech stacks and was given responsibilities
that extracted the best out of me. I’m truly grateful that my corporate journey started with
Sabre!
