INTRODUCTION
Applications
The ­Stäubli S1600 and S1700 ranges of cam motions are ideally suited
for weaving various plain weaves. The S1781 model is particularly
suitable to produce heavy fabrics. Both ranges can be used on weaving
machines with rapier and air-jet weft insertion systems.

Features
­Stäubli cam motions are high-performance machines designed and
built on the basis of many years of experience and intensive research in
the field of shedding technology. Their extremely robust construction,
with monobloc housing and uncompromising use of the highest quality
materials, ensures exceptional reliability and very long service life. It
is extremely easy to carry out maintenance and adjustments such as
changing the texture.
The housing of the S1600 range takes 8 lifting units, and the type
S1781 housing takes 10 lifting units, at a pitch of 12 mm.

Adjusting the cams

­Stäubli offers a wide selection of cams for weaving machines of all
types. There is a special adjusting device for positioning the cams
relative to each other with great precision. This ensures a perfect shed Weft repeat

Shed levelling device

The cam motions types S1692 and
S1781 have an automatic levelling
device for the heald frames. This
is controlled by a separate electric
motor, and enables the frames
to be automatically levelled in the

parts of the harness motion.

Adjusting the shed opening

The cam motions can be fitted with the ­Stäubli adjustable link. The
shed opening (A) can be precisely and easily adjusted by moving the A

Quick links
The ­Stäubli product range includes the VR and DRC quick link systems
for rapidly locking and unlocking the heald frames during an article
change. The DRC2 and DRC10 quick link types enable all heald frames
to be automatically locked and unlocked at the same time.

ADAPTATION, OPERATION

Adaptation
The S1600/S1700 series of cam motions are positioned low.
We recommend harness motions e32 and e33, and DRC10, DRC2 or
VR type quick links.

Commissioning
Simplicity of operation reduces operator training time, so the system is
soon up and running.
