Course Objectives:
To expose students to the management of execution of projects in a real-time professional
working environment from conceptualization to realization through a process of involvement
with concept processes, working drawings, documentation of works and realization of
construction goals.
Expected Course Outcome:
Students will be able to
[1] Apply the nomenclature, graphics symbols, formats, conventions and
compositional clarity associated with architectural drawings, models and reports.
[2] Understanding statutory documentation pertinent to architectural projects
[3] Understand office administrative practices and protocols.
[4] Develop collaborative working skills.
[5] Understand the relationships between architectural design and site execution.

Guidelines from Council of Architecture

As per the Council of Architecture, Interned the students engage in work in an

architectural practice/ government architecture departments and train
specifically under architects registered with the Council. The results shall be
periodically assessed by the architect under whom they are assigned and defend
their portfolio in front of a jury/ panel at the end of the internship period.

Guidelines for V-SPARC students to be followed during their internship

period:

1. The joining letter & completion certificate from the interned

architectural offices needs to be sent to the school email
(info.vsparc@vit.ac.in) on or before 3rd Jan 2022 & 16th May 2022
respectively. Tentatively, your final jury will be conducted on the 21st
& 22nd of May 2022.
2. Joining letter needs to be on the official letterhead and addressed to the
Director, School of Architecture (V-SPARC), VIT University, Vellore
- 632014, T. N
3. As per the Council of Architecture, Interned the students engage in
work in an architectural practice/ government architecture departments
and train specifically under architects registered with the Council for a
duration of 100 days.
4. Students need to fill in the logbook on a daily basis and need to share
the soft copy of the logbook every month first week along with a small
write brief over the work profile you are engaged in.
5. Change of intern offices is only permitted on approval from the
Internship Coordinator at least two weeks before informing the current
interning office.
On getting official approval from the internship coordinator, the
student (intern) can place an official request in the current interning
office. It's mandatory to collect all the official documents (logbook
duly filled, drawings & completion certificate) before a change of the
office with the chief architect signature and office seal that you have
been associated with.
Make sure that office has mailed all the relevant evaluation reports to
the school.
6. The internship coordinator will randomly physically visit the
firms/interns on a periodic basis to assess the progression of the
internship.
7. 5th of every month the intern office need to share attendance and
evaluation reports to the school through email (info.vsparc@vit.ac.in).
8. The final evaluation report will be shared by the school to gather
comprehensive evaluation from offices a month before the completion
of internship. Which interning office need to email the scanned copy
to info.vsparc@vit.ac.in.
9. Health and Safety measure: WHO guidelines
✓ Avoid crowds, # stay safe
✓ Protect yourself and others from getting COVID-19
✓ If you need to step out, always wear a mask properly, wash hands
frequently and watch your distance (6 feet)
✓ If you show symptoms, isolate immediately
✓ Don't panic - Most cases of COVID-19 can be treated at home

10. VIT rules on Honesty and Integrity in the academic submissions shall
apply very strictly.
11. Any unethical/unprofessional behaviour from the students would be
taken up by the university seriously and may lead to serious
consequences.
12. All communications from the interned architectural office & internship
related choirs through info.vsparc@vit.ac.in only.
