equipment subject to wear, such as seals, nuts, bolts, washers and the like.
4-1.1.3 Coordination with other Parties
a) The requirements for the covers shall be coordinated with the suppliers of all equipment,
pipework and fittings connected or adjacent to the covers. In particular:
i. biogas handling system Vendor;
LY
ii. odour control system Vendor.
4-1.1.4 Vendor's Service Representative
a) PRE-INSTALLATION AND INSTALLATION ASSISTANCE: The Contractor shall require the
N
Vendor for each cover system to provide the services of a trained, qualified factory service
representative for not less than 2 days at the Site, to assist in the pre-installation inspection and
installation of the system.

4-1.2 Products
4-1.2.1 Performance and Capacity Requirements
4-1.2.1.1 Inlet Works
C
EN
a) The inlet works shall be covered to the extents shown on the Drawings. Gas will be continuously
extracted from beneath the inlet works covers by the odour control system to maintain a negative
pressure beneath the covers to reduce fugitive odour emissions.
b) Cover system shall include all hatches and penetrations as nominated on the Drawings.
ER
f) Structural design shall also consider loading scenarios where a potential negative pressure due
R
a) The ABR shall be covered to the extents shown on the Drawings. Gas pressure will build beneath
the ABR covers and passively flow to the biogas handling system and flare.
b) The ABR covers shall be designed and installed to achieve a sustained gas capture efficiency
of 99% at the maximum internal vessel pressure.
c) The ABR covers shall be designed to withstand the impact loading from a person falling from 1m

by a competent (but not specialist) installation contractor provided by the Contractor, under the
supervision of a specialist installation supervisor to be provided by the cover Vendor.
O
b) Covers shall additionally comply with AS2634 Chemical Plant Equipment made from glass fibre
reinforced plastics (GRP) based on Thermosetting Resins.
c) GRP resin shall be a polyvinyl resin. Polyester resin will not be acceptable.
E
d) The covers shall be transparent.
e) The Vendor shall provide documentary evidence of resistance to accelerated aging/long term
C
solar exposure for the covers proposed for the Works.
4-1.2.2.2 Chemical Resistance
EN
a) Notwithstanding the concentrations which have been measured/calculated/estimated, the
Vendor shall design for peak gaseous H2S of 580 ppm and shall advise the chemical resistance
of the covers to condensate of low pH (range 1 to 5 pH units).
4-1.2.2.3 Cover Bearing Length
ER
a) Covers shall be designed to land on a maximum of 150mm of concrete wall, walkway or other
support component. Where possible this distance shall be reduced. Where 150mm of concrete
is not available, GRP or SS316 support angles or channels shall be supplied as appropriate to
supplement the concrete section width.
EF
b) Rainwater run-off shall be considered in the design of the covers. The Contractor shall be
responsible for incorporation of suitable measures to deal with control of rainwater runoff from
the covers in the design. Where appropriate, this shall include measures to take rainwater into
R
the covered structures. “Ponding” of water on the covers (or surrounding structures), or
excessive water flow on surrounding structures caused by (or a symptom of) defects in storm
water control from covered areas shall not be acceptable.
FO
d) Pallets shall be dead weight loaded and both centre and side guided for stability.
e) Pallets shall incorporate replaceable “air cushion” Teflon seat inserts.
f) Housing body shall be self-draining to keep condensate from seating surfaces.
g) HDPE protective screen shall be provided at the vacuum port, located external of the pallet.
h) Valve body and covers shall be low copper cast aluminium construction.
