1. What explains the high level of corruptions at Siemens?

How did managers engaged in

corruption rationalize it?
There were high levels of corruption in Siemens Company. It involves when Siemens
company corrupted monarchs, government officials, and other companies for them to be
given contracts. In one instance, the company paid Nigerian government officials $12.7
million to win a telecommunication deal. The managers of the company were not remorseful
of their actions. In fact, they rationalized their actions.

2. What do you think would have happened to a manager at Siemens if he or she had taken a
stand against corrupt practices?
Corruption is their company’s culture; it is literal part of their company. I believe that
their manager would not rather to take a stand against their corrupt practices because he or
she will never risk the job that he or she wanted rather than doing the right thing. Even if it is
a tough decision for managers seeing that the company is doing bd things. It was either go
with the flow of the firm or end up in jail, as some of the executives did when they were
found with unlawful dealings. Because all of the senior executives appeared to be involved in
the illicit activities, all of the managers were forced to engage as well.
participate. A management's sole option was to resign and look for work at another
organization that shared the same ethical beliefs as the manager.

3. How does the kind of corruption Siemens engaged in distort competition?

There are many corruptions at Siemens Company that were involved. Siemens, for
example, is a large corporation that can afford to pay bribes that smaller businesses cannot.
This means that even if Siemens' competitors offer a superior product or service, they will
never have a fair opportunity to compete. It affects the consumer because it leaves them
lesser option because of what Siemens do. They always choose to buy at a high price because
that is the only available. Regardless of whether the product or service is the greatest,
whichever company has the larger bank account will win the bid/business. It does not provide
other businesses with an objective share of the business process.
4. What is the impact of corrupt behavior by Siemens on the countries where it does
business?
They use corruption to win contracts in some foreign companies.  If bribery was
common in a country, Siemens would routinely use bribes to win business. Inside Siemens,
bribes were referred to as useful money.

5. If you were a manager at Siemens, and you become aware of these activates, what would
you have done?
If I am a manager at Siemens and I am aware of these activities, I would rather to shut
my mouth and just continue the culture, because If I would leave a resignation letter they
would not let me do it because I already know what is happening to the company. They
would rather kill me. I would not risk my job and my life.
