On rare occassions, EAI’s Advanced Product Support team may request a technician to obtain EEPROM data.
Before you can do this, you will first need an account created to access Epson’s Adjustment Portal Program and you will need Epson’s
asi_make.exe utility.
Once your account has been created, please follow these steps:
2. Click Execute
3. You will be prompted to give the file a name and choose a location to
save the file to. Do not change the .asi extension.
4. Go to https://adj.ebz.epson.net/adjportal/
Page 4

7. Click upload.
To fix, you will need to create and submit a new *.asi file

13. When selecting the model for the first time, a window will
appear asking do you accept to download and run the pro-
gram? Click Yes.

This function will FAIL if the printer is asleep. Please wake the control
panel prior to clicking Dump.

Error Codes
Make sure there is no interference with the Cap Motion Unit’s up/down path. This may be caused by incorrect assembly, debris and/or
mechanical deformation/failure.
Debris = Check for any debris that may interfere with the Cap Motion Unit’s movement*.
*if printer was recently moved or had a significant paper jam, then the Guide Parts from the Print Head may have come off. Inspect
printer thoroughly to locate all parts and reassemble them to the print head.
While performing a head exchange, if maintenance box becomes full or ink cartridge runs empty, it may be possible that the cap will
become stuck to print head surface due to high suction. Try to find a safe way to break this seal without damaging print head surface.
If pulling on the maint. motion unit, take care to not break the arms that raise the cap. Suction may be very strong.

Some reports have indicating removal and reinstall has corrected issue.
Please also check for possible dust on encoder or poor cable connection.

The ground plate in the EJ unit (not in Bridge unit) does not perfectly touch the metal parts of the D3 unit because there are some backlash for
attaching the ground plate to the EJ unit. As a result, stored electricity is discharged randomly and printer detects this noise as error 060007.

(Error Code: 100014) LIFT Timeout Error (if using FW older than GA25H8)
(Error Code: 100015) LIFT Sensor Error (if using FW GA25H8 or newer)
ADF paper tray lifts when it detects paper placed on the ADF. When scanning
is completed, it moves down to its home position. It is possible that while tray
is moving down, user may be removing paper beneath the tray and cause it to
become “out of position”.
If issue occurs too frequently, ADF may need replacement. If printer’s serial
number is X3FV0000271 or lower (C20590 only) replace the ADF with p/n
1741819 or higher which has been modified to prevent this issue.

There are 2 Front Head Paper Guide assemblies that have 2 Guide Parts and 2 Compression Springs attached to a base.
Each base Guide Assembly is secured to the Print Head by 2 screws and share 1 screw. The Guide Parts are only secured by
their plastic hooks with the compression springs.
In the Service Manual, go to Repair Work Details (Main Unit) > Head. Follow instructions starting with Guide Letter A1 and con-
tinue through A10.
It is NOT necessary to perform the normally required Before Repair Operation [31 Head] or completing Supplemental Work (1).
You will probably not have a Head Joint Cap as shown in step A10. If you find it necessary, you may wrap the Head Ink Joint in
a towel. Then find a way to secure the tubes away from the Print Head. Be sure to NOT LOOSEN or remove the Tube Clips or
ink WILL spill quickly; risking serious damage to the print head and FFC connections.
Before you remove the head in A15 Step 3, you will need to “unlock” the Print Head. You will need to perform the following:
Follow the Reassembly instructions found in A16 to restore the Front Head Paper Guides to the Print head. The hooks can be
fragile so be careful.
After the all the Front Head Paper Guide assemblies have been reinstalled on the print head, reassemble the printer following
the service manual instructions in reverse order.

Technical Information/Bulletins
TE18-0595 Rev. A
There is a possibility that a nozzle-out occurrence for the entire print head may occur. See below photo that shows example of yellow
nozzles missing..
Possible Cause:
Failure of the Relay Ink Path Assembly(diagram Ref 503, ASP name Guide,Tube,Relay,Unit)
Remedy:
Replace the (Ref 503, Guide,Tube,Relay,Unit) following instructions in the Service Manual.
1. Perform Program No. 322:Relay Flow Path Assy; follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
2. Replace the Part
3. To complete step 4. Ink and Maint. Box should be at least 50% or more remaining.
4. Perform Program No. 422:Relay Flow Path Assy;
5. Start printer in Normal mode
6. Print a Nozzle Check and perform additional cleanings as needed.

Some media types, especially thin ones, are more susceptible to temperature, humidity, and ink saturation/density (during duplex print-
ing) which cause them to cockle. This may cause them to rub the print head surface. Please consider the following:
1. Storing media out of strong direct light sources (such as sunlight) and areas of high humidity. For media loaded in the
paper trays, you may wish to consider adding XXXX to the paper trays to absorb moisture.
2. Change the Envelope/Thick Paper setting in the driver to Mode 1 or Mode 2 (higher quality print, but slower print speed
to allow ink more dry time).
Check to make sure paper is loaded in the center of the tray of the guides are snug to the edges. If there is a gap between guides and
paper, then paper is likely to not be centered and prints will be offset.
If the Fax Data Information, Job/Status, Job Interruption, or Paper Setting icons are missing, you will need to perform a full reset to
recover them. Settings > General Settings > System Administration > Restore Default Settings > Clear Data and Settings.
Restart the printer. If this does not work, please reinstall/update firmware.
Paper curl happens naturally when paper (especially thin uncoated plain paper) absorbs large amounts of ink. Usually it will flatten itself
out in a short period of time. However, low humidity will exacerbate this issue when printing pages with high duty print (such as photos,
flyers, or Power Point Presentation). Recommend trying to maintain a humidity level around 50%.

Check the cable connecting to CN54 on the CE47MAIN (Main Board) and CN2 on
CE47SUB-B (Scanner FFC relay) board and make sure it is secure.

If this does not fix this error, remove the Paper Width Sensor and make sure the FFC cable on the bottom is securely attached to the
PCB board.

If it is trapped between the Print Head and the Cap, please manually lower the Cap
manually so that the paper may be removed.
Before trying to print, clean the Pre-Register Paper Detector and the Pre-Printing
Sensor located on the Register Unit.
