Nobody has been more important to me in the pursuit of this project than the

members of our family. I would like to thank my parents whose love and guidance are

with me in whatever I pursue. They are the ultimate role models. Most importantly, we

to finish our paper. We are so proud of ourselves, even though we face so many

ABSTRACT

BUSINESS ADAPTABILITY: PANDEMIC CRISIS MANAGEMENT FOR SMALL


SCALE BUSINESS

The study focused on the Business Adaptability: Pandemic Crisis Management for

Small Scale Business during the school year 2021-2022 conducted at Zamboanga del

Sur National High School-Senior High School. The researchers used survey

questionnaire method through face to face interview to 35 respondents in barangay

Santa Maria and remaining 8 survey questionnaire disseminated personally to the

small business owners in barangay Santa. Maria, Pagadian City. The highest in

frequency is for respondents according to the type of their business is the Sari-sari

store the frequency is 15 with the percentage of 42.86%. Highest in frequency and

percentage is the 1 year-5 years the frequency is 18 with the percentage of 51.43%

respondents according to the number of months/ years the business has been in

operation. Respondents according to their reasons of engaging in the business.The

highest in frequency and percentage is “To earn money” the frequency is 22 with the

percentage of 62.86%. Business Crisis have experienced during the post Covid-19

Pandemic. The highest in frequency and percentage is “Less customer” the frequency

is 22 with the percentage of 62.85%. Crisis Management used to cope up with the

Pandemic Crisis. The highest in frequency and percentage is the “Adaptability” the

frequency is 18 with the percentage of 51.43%.


Absence of adequate crisis management strategies in small firms could result

in a premature small business closure. Data collection occurred through online survey

with small business owners; observations. Data were thematically analyzed and then

triangulated to ensure trustworthiness of interpretations. The theory of crisis

management and crisis intervention theory were the conceptual frameworks for this

study. Small business owners who implement survival strategies may contribute to

positive social change by continuing to create employment opportunities that improve

economic conditions in local communities.
