1 of 3 Guidelines for Proper Direction of Particle Filter
Purpose
The purpose of this Tmail is to notify to the authorized service engineers of the correct direction of
the particle filter on the LightSheer DESIRE (all models), and Infinity, Duet and ET systems (all
models).

When the particle filter is installed incorrectly, it is very difficult to clean. If attempting to clean the
filter is unsuccessful, the entire particle filter must be replaced, using P/N SP-1108630.
Disconnect the particle filter from the coolant tubes. Open the Particle filter by twisting both sides
in opposite directions. Using air pressure or water pressure, clean both sides of the filter,
especially the metal screen, taking care to make sure that the center hole is clear and free of
particles from both sides.
Figure 3
Reinstall the particle filter in the correct direction, as shown in Figure 4 (for LightSheer Desire).
After installation perform flow meter tool check (refer to Tmail 9354 and PB-1175419).
NOTE: This issue was found only on DESIRE systems in production, however, these guidelines
can be used to check for proper particle filter direction on DUET and Infinity and LightSheer ET
systems as well. The figures below show proper installation of the particle filters on LightSheer
Duet and Infinity (water flow always from long side to short side).
