Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Patel Zeel Yogeshkumar, a third-year undergraduate student pursuing Mechanical

Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. I wish to apply for the Deutsche Bank
Summer Internship Programme.

My enthusiasm and interest in finance developed from a basic economics course which was a part of
my curriculum in my second year. Right from then, I started exploring the field by doing a few
projects and MOOCs. I have done a virtual project on Equity Research, in which I found the
valuation of stock and compared it with the current market price. This project helped me understand
company performance, forecast future performances of the company, and estimate the stock's
valuations. An online course on Financial Markets by Yale University developed more profound
insight into bonds, stocks, dividends, behavioral finance, etc. As a self-project, I have automated the
trading process using various technical indicators and compared them over a long period to achieve
the best net return and Sharpe ratio. This project helped me understand various indicators and
developed my interest in stock markets. The Investment Bank offers an opportunity to make a career
in these fields. It motivates me to pursue my career in an investment bank.

I have been engaged in a plethora of extracurricular activities right from my school days. During my
first year, I was deeply involved in various Hall activities like Illumination, Cricket, quizzes, etc.
During my second year, I was in the Core Organizing Team of Kshitij (one of the Largest techno-
management symposiums in India), where I substantially contributed to the three facets, i.e.,
Sponsorship, Event Management, and Publicity. My achievements and experiences have instilled
leadership qualities, trained me as a good team player, developed strong work ethics, and developed
a sense of confidence in me.

As mentioned during the pre-placement talk, Deutsche Bank's excellent work culture and having
employees from diversified backgrounds serve as a primary motivation for my application. Global
exposure with your bank will definitely give me a significant boost in my career. My zeal to learn and
create growth, coupled with my abilities to collaborate creatively, makes me a suitable candidate for
