In the future, all cars, buses, and trucks will be driverless.
The only people traveling
inside these vehicles will be passengers. Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?
With the development of technology, there is a prediction that in almost vehicles,
driver would not be unnecessary. Although there are obvious drawbacks to this trend, I believe that these are outweighed by the benefits. On the one hand, driverless can cause some negative outcomes. The first drawback is people whose work is driver for public transport may have to face with the possibility of losing their job. Furthermore, when eliminate driver, which is a prominent post in society the opportunity for people seeking jobs would be reduced. Another drawback is If there are only passengers on public transports such as buses, it can lead to some extra problems that out of the drive system’s control. Conflicts between people, for example, can occur anytime and there would be nobody has sufficient authority to reconcile them. On the other hand, being able to replace drivers make vehicles become convenient and modern. Firstly, when driverless transportation is applied, they have to be precisely programmed and passed the safety test. Therefore, the ability to drive and definite the directions is better than driver. Secondly, machines have no emotions and feelings so they will not be tiring or affected by the mood. As a result, without being exhausting, machines can stably drive more than humans. Finally, when people own their private driverless car, they can delegate to their car to drive and do their business when moving. This would save time and reduce effort to drive for them. In conclusion, driverless cars might make people under threat of unemployment and hard to tackle certain situations. However, it seems to me that the convenience and functions of driverless cars bring more advantages than its disadvantages.
