MODULE 8. WHAT AND HOW TO MEASURE DEI SUCCESS


To summarize the material you have reviewed in this module, we have a few questions:

What are the main purposes of measuring the organization’s DEI strategies?
 Identify bias blind spots (diagnosis) in organizational areas such as representation,
retention, recruitment, promotion, development, etc.
 Track the progress of the DEI strategies/initiatives that the organization is implementing
 Measure your organization’s success improving its performance, whether financial or
non-financial.
What is the organizational DEI assessment?
 The DEI organizational assessment is an important first step for a company to establish a
baseline as to where it is in the diversity and inclusion space and to develop a strategic
plan that will help it to make progress year-over-year and track the progress made.
Why does the organization’s leadership use scorecards and dashboards?
 To report DEI key performance indicators with performance targets to show progress
over time
 To present a current set of reports, charts and grids to visually describe and monitor the
selected performance indicators
 To link the business strategies and its diversity-management initiatives and include more
relevant variables, such as supplier diversity, engagement, retention, talent development
and contributions to market growth
