Alcatel-Lucent Service Router (SR) SONET/SDH Media Dependent Adapters (MDAs) provide highly scalable
and rich connectivity options for a wide range of service providers, cable MSOs, and business customer
needs. Supporting high performance packet over SONET/SDH (POS), SONET/SDH MDAs enable scalable and
reliable delivery of optical transport services over a unified IP/MPLS network.

Alcatel-Lucent SONET/SDH MDAs are Features and benefits

available on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
and Alcatel-Lucent 7710 SR, are fully
supported by the Alcatel-Lucent
5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM),
and support in-service insertion
and removal. SONET/SDH MDAs are
supported on the 7750 SR-7 and
7750 SR-12 using Input/Output Modules
(IOMs) with up to two MDAs per IOM.
SONET/SDH MDAs are supported on
the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR-c4 and
7750 SR-c12 using MDA Carrier
Modules-XP (MCM-XP) with one MDA
provisioned per MCM-XP. SONET/SDH
MDAs are supported on the 7710 SR
using MDA Carrier Modules (MCM)
with one MDA provisioned per MCM.
