Chapter covered Triangles
Art Integrated
WARLI ART

Objectives 1. To depict social life through art.

2.To explore pictures of human beings and animals, along with scenes from daily life
created in a loose rhythmic pattern .
3. To use geometric designs such as triangles, circles, squares, dots and crooked lines
to depict human figures, animal figures, houses, crops etc.
.
Material required A4 size sheets, Colour Papers, colours, ruler , pencil etc.

Methodology ➢ Warli painting is a form of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from
of Activity the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra, India.
➢ This range encompasses cities such as Dahanu, Talasari, Jawhar, Palghar,
Mokhada, and Vikramgad of Palghar district.
➢ Warli painting is simple and linear with the maximum use of triangular shapes.
➢ Concept having the upward facing triangle representing the Male and the
downward facing triangle representing the Woman.
➢ Refer different links and make different designs.

Learning outcomes Students will be able to

1. combine the knowledge of triangles and other geometric shapes in creating artistic
patterns.
2. Enhance their creativity and appreciate the integration of Art in Maths.

Art integrated project (2)

Chapter covered Triangles: Pythagoras theorem

Subject and
Art
Integrated

Pythagorean tree and Triangles(Maths)

Objectives 1. To review Pythagoras property.
2. To explore how Pythagoras property can be used to create art form- Pythagorean tree.
3.To create more patterns using Pythagoras property.

Material required Colour Papers, ruler, colour pens /pencils.

Methodology
of Activity

Step1:Begin by drawing a square (about 1" x 1") near the bottom of your drawing surface.

Step 2: Draw a right isosceles triangle whose hypotenuse is the top edge of the square you just
drew.

Step3: Draw squares along each of the other two sides of this isosceles triangle.

Step 4: Repeat this construction on each of the two new squares.

Step 5: Continue building triangles and squares in the same fashion until you are happy with your tree.

Learning outcomes Students shall be able to

1. combine the knowledge of Pythagoras property in creating artistic patterns.
2. enhance their creativity and appreciate the integration of Art in Maths.

Similar Triangles
Subject and Sierpiński triangle -Maths
Art
Integrated

Objectives 1. To demonstrate the similarity of the triangles through patters.

2. To construct a Sierpiński triangle using Geogebra.

Material required Geogebra, Desmos Graph, Paper, Colour Pencil

Methodology
of Activity

1. Construct an equilateral triangle.

2. Construct the mid points of the three sides and then construct segments connecting the midpoints.

3. Construct and connect the midpoints of the sides of the three triangles so formed.
4. Again, construct and connect the midpoints of the sides of all triangles formed in the previous step.

5. Repeat the process till you get a beautiful design.

Learning Students shall be able to

outcomes 1. Combine the knowledge of similar triangles in creating artistic patterns.
2. Enhance their creativity and appreciate the integration of Art in Maths.
