National Theater or Performing Arts Theater in Asia:

Jeongdong Theater, Seoul, South Korea

I. Corporate Profile

Koreans have always had a strong affinity for dance and music which has continued all
through their historical record. Performing arts and theatre performances started on late
19th century after South Korea opened its door to foreigners. Inside the ancient history,
people in the village managed to gather to sing and dance in celebration of harvesting
and planting that also has been most likely the beginning of folk songs and dance, that
continues to be widespread loved and valued today. One of the top performing theaters
in South Korea is Jeongdong Theater.

The Jeongdong Theater is located along the Deoksugung Stone Wall Path and provides
as a cultural center for the locals. Jeongdong Theater, which launched on June 17,
1995, is historically important because it was formed to restore the heritage of
Wongaksa, Korea's first modern theater. Jeongdong Theater hosts various widely
praised performances such as "Traditional Art Performance," "Masters Exhibition," and
"Art Frontier," in addition to state programs such as "Art Stage at Noon." As a
consequence, Jeongdong Theater has evolved into one of Korea's most reflective
traditional styles production theaters, and it was named a Seoul Future Heritage site in
2015.

II. Mission and Vision

This year labeled the 25th founding anniversary of the Jeongdong Theater, which
established on June 17, 1995. As a result, he created a fresh mission and vision.  CEO
Kim Hee-chul announced the closure of the "traditional permanent performance" that
Jeongdong Theater had already been operating for the last 20 years, and proclaimed a
big step forward towards a concert hall beloved by viewers by formulating the procedure
of the Jeongdong Theater Art Troupe, continuing to expand the way the effectiveness is
functioned, and acknowledging vibrantly colored genres. The Jeongdong Theater's
mission statement is to promote traditional Korean culture. It’s indeed definitely a
reconstruction of Korea's first’ modern' theater. As well as, matter of fact, I had lived in

IV. Strategic Plan-Long term

A long-term plan is an outline that serves as a plot or guide, stating clearly in which you
desire to go and how you intend to arrive there. It enables you to precisely prioritize
tasks and monitor how you're progressing toward ones end-goals. This procedure frees
you from of the suffocating loop of day-to-day making plans.

In these days wherein technology dominates the old style of performing and entertaining
audience, it is very hard for liver performing and theatrical act to get back on the track.
Jeongdong Theater keeps doing their very best to keep them running on the race
between the new era. They made and execute very unique, spectacular and timely act
that will be relatable to its audience. To support this idea of keeping the wave alive, they
also communicate to their clients and audiences online to be more efficient for them to
promote their institution.

V. High Profile Events

In 2010, the auditorium successfully staged "Miso," which featured this same classical
music "Love Songs from Chunhyang," authored and produced by Jeongdong Theater.
The live performance drew a significant number of foreign tourists from all corners of the
globe, attempting to pass on Korean cultural norms and elegance while also capturing
the attention of critiques globally. Furthermore, the theater presented "The Second
Story of Miso: Baebijang-jeon," a modernized version of the basic values discovered in
Korean art and culture.

VI. Priority Programs

The Jeongdong Theater is Korea's fair representation traditional styles production


theater. Jeongdong Theater has emerged as a well-known tourist destination due to its
various cultural amenities. Chongdong Theater's compiled code is 'Traditional Arts
Performance.' The Traditional Arts Performance is held on a daily basis and has
become a venue for foreign people to learn about art forms.

VII. Source of Fund to Support Operations

Jeongdong Theater, which is operated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism,
is a public platform in which conventional choreography, songs, as well as plays are
executed. Jeongdong Theater’s source of fund is the assets being invested by its
investors and the money donated by influential and ordinary people who watches and
visited their live performances on stage. These collected savings was used to sustain
theater needs and provide allowance for its performers.

VIII. Synthesis and Analysis

The Cultural Center of the Philippines was established in 1966 to promote and preserve
the finest of Filipino cultural traditions and arts. Since that day, the CCP had also
worked to encapsulate. For nearly fifty years, the CCP has been in the frontline of the
arts and culture. The CCP endorses the expansion and growth of arts municipalities
across the nation thru the relevant seminars and conferences throughout its Cultural
Exchange Program. With these organizations and other institutions, Filipinos have
indeed been able to experience the splendor of distinct cultures from around the world,
as well as witness many victory performances from highly renowned artists.
This study may help the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in improving its
production or team in every performance as well as having a more clear vision of their
goals inline to the Vision and Mission of the said Institution. Thus, this study would be a
great introduction to the different genre of every Asian countries especially Korea who is
now the most country.
