4.4 Abstraction Figure of Speech- is a word or phrase that uses figurative language. It has other meaning than its literal
15 minutes definition.
Simile- compare two different things using like / as.
Example: Ana’s smile is as bright as the sunshine
Metaphor- compare two things directly without using as/ like
Example: The snow is a white blanket.
Personification- ideas , animals , things, and other inanimate objects are represented as having human
qualities.
Example: The trees are dancing.
5. Assessment Quizz
Direction:Indidcate whether each sentence is simile, metaphor, personification. Write your answer in a
1/4 sheet of paper.
6. Assignment In a short size bond paper, make / compose a poem in a free verse using simile, metaphor ,
personification.
