Professional Experience

Deputy Manager Electrical (Spinning & New Projects) | SAPPHIRE Diamond Denim, Lhr | December 2020 – Till Now

Currently working with Sapphire group as Deputy Manager Electrical, and looking after the Design & Execution of New
Production Plant for Spinning Division, Operations & Maintenance of Existing Spinning Unit & Innovative upgradation of
Existing Systems. My core responsibilities include:

• Leading the in-house Design of LT/LV EHV & ELV distribution system for new production units along with
generation of SLD’s, load calculation sheets, Cable Sizing, BOQ’s and list of material with specifications
• To generate estimates of Electrical Equipment/Project’s Scope and negotiate with vendors for best prices
• Leading projects team for execution of running and upcoming construction projects and to perform periodic site
visits in order to counter check the quality and pace of ongoing site activities
• Leading Operations Department for Spinning Division
• To generate and manage Electrical Preventive Maintenance schedules, Machine Downtime records and
implementation of safety procedures i.e. LOTO, Fire Safety & General Electrical Safety, during ongoing
maintenance activities / new installations
• Management of spares inventory & scheduling for existing and upcoming machinery
• To set up scope and execute electrical related jobs all over the unit, including upgradations and new projects
• To generate and update Electrical Energy Consumption charts to look after the capacity of existing LV system and
actual load consumptions

PROJECTS at Sapphire DFL:

Lighting Control Management: Designed, Procured & Installed 200 Nos Breath Detection Microwave
Motion Sensors in Sapphire Diamond Factory as a project to reduce electricity consumption by efficiently
control its requirement. These sensors were specially designed to detect the human breathing in order to
detect the real occupancy in any certain area for lighting control.
 Spinning Division – New Shredding Unit: Singlehandedly designed, Procured, Installed & Commissioned
complete Electrical Systems including MV/LV Distribution System, Indoor & Outdoor Lighting, General
Power, Underground Trenches for Power Distribution, Earthing System & Lightning Protection System for
Sapphire’s New Spinning Extension of 55000sqft.

Lightning Protection System: As a project lead, singlehandedly completed the project for Lightning
Protection System based on ESE System. No Protection from Lightning Stricks was the major NC in the
Electrical Audit conducted by LEVIS.

Flow Meters for Utility Management: Procured more than 100 flow meters to calculate & monitor the
consumption of utilities like Steam, Water, thermos oil, Air & Condensate flow in different divisions of the
factory. All the data was linked to Sapphire’s online server and is monitored in real time.

Cable Management System: Took initiative to redesigned the cable routes, added new cable trays and
installed new power DB’s on the roof of Spinning Unit. Electrical installations were in critical conditions as
the previously installed system was almost 20 years old. After completion of this project, I received a
special appreciation from my senior management.

100 Ton Weight Bridge: Supervised Installation of 100 Ton Weight Bridge for Spinning Division and
performs it calibration from PCSIR.

Solar Lighting: Procured & Installed 100Watt Solar LED lights in all security posts within factory premises
in order to lit the critical security areas in case of any power breakdown.

Energy Monitoring: Procured Digital Energy Meters, make Circutor – CVM C10 and installed in Spinning
Unit’s LT panels, making it possible to monitor electrical consumption online by linking it to the sapphire’s
online server.

Smokey Yarn Issue Rectification: Designed & Installed a special ventilation duct to get rid of boiler’s
smoke that is causing quality issues in Yarn inspections. Installed length of the duct was 125ft with air
volume of 13000 cfm. After its operation, this quality issue was rectified.

Single Line Diagrams: Previously, all the SLD’s of Electrical distribution system were designed in MS Visio
which have a very little detail. I took initiative, and along with new interns, performed a detailed survey
and redesigned all the SLD’s in AutoCAD software.

Worked with Imarat Developers as Assistant Manager Electrical and looked after the electrical activities for their under
construction High Rise buildings. My core responsibilities were Electrical Design review & Implementation, Design of
Electrical Systems for In House projects, Procurement of material, Billing, Site coordination, Execution and testing &
commissioning.

I started my professional career with Husnain Associates, where I learned the basic electrical design codes and principals.
After that, I was promoted from Electrical Design Engineer to Electrical Site Engineer and was transferred to Nishat
Emporium Mall to supervise the electrical activities. My major duties & responsibilities includes Electrical design of
commercial projects, BOQ’s, load calculations, Voltage drop, Lux calculations, Site visits & coordination with consultants.
