Who is St. Mary Magdalene?

- Mary Magdalene was one of the very few loyal followers of Jesus
Christ
- She is said to be the first person to see Jesus’ resurrection
- According to the Bible, she was one of the witnesses (and if not,
the first) to see Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection
- In some cases, she was also depicted as Jesus’ love interest
- According to Western Christianity however, she is depicted as
sexually immoral and a prostitute

The Life of St. Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene’s life was not recorded in detail in the Bible or


in any scriptures relating to that. However, we do know that
Mary lived in a small town in Magdala. Later on in her life, Jesus
released 7 evil demons from her body and she soon became an
avid follower of him. Her date of birth and death are unknown,
but some say that she died in a cave somewhere in France
whilst praying.
