Cardiovascular  Tachycardia
 Hypertension with widened pulse

 Palpitations
 Arrhythmias
 Chest pain
Endocrine  Women: oligo/amenorrhea,
dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and
infertility
 Men: gynecomastia, decreased libido,
and erectile dysfunction
 Hyperglycemia
Gastrointestinal  Increased motility (diarrhea)
Hematologic  Anemia
Musculoskeletal  Pretibial myxedema
 Myopathy
 Osteopathy
Neurologic  Anxiety
 Emotional instability
 Hyperreflexia
 Insomnia
 Tremors
Ophthalmologic  Lid lag
 Lid retraction
 Exophthalmos (seen in Graves disease)

Delayed relaxation of deep tendon reflexes, also known as the Woltman


sign, can be seen in hypothyroidism. Woltman sign can also be seen in
pregnant patients, diabetics, and the elderly. In hyperthyroidism, reflexes
would be brisk without the delay in relaxation
