The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced uncertainty into major aspects of national and
global society, including for schools. Despite of the challenge, dressmaking students showcases
their skills in hand stitching in making their simple gown design.

Dressmaking is defined as the craft of sewing clothes and dresses. It is the activity or job
of making clothes for women or girls. It is the fundamental principles of pattern drafting,
interpreting of design and pattern construction and it deals on the study and application of fabric,
pattern lay-out, cutting and making of cloth as preliminaries to the assembling processes of
constructing simple garments.
At the end of the quarter, dressmaking students had planned their own simple gown
design that served as their Culminating Activity. On May 24, 2022, they presented their output in
front of the teachers who gave rate to their simple gown together with their planned design. The
rater amazed the output even though they are used hand stitching but it appeared very durable
and quality design.
