A computer is an electronic device, operating under the control of instructions

stored in its own memory that can accept data (input), process the data according to
specified rules, produce information (output), and store the information for future
use. Computer has several importance and they are:-
1- High Speed
Modern computers have incredible speed of processing. It takes only few seconds
for calculations that we take hours to complete. Computers makes it possible to
receive, supply and process large volumes of data at very high speed. That makes
the work done faster and it safes a lot of time.

2- Accuracy
Because, accuracy is a major part of computer characteristics.
Just think that if the computer makes a mistake in doing any calculation, then no
one will use the computer.
Today, this is the reason that people rely on computer accuracy, and computers are
being used everywhere.

3- Storage Capability
with the diverse use of this we are now able to store and manage huge volumes of
data and transactions that are sometimes impossible for a human brain to manage
and recognize as we have multiple things and operations to make. With the
effective use of this, we are now able to keep a record of all the date today
proceedings which can be used for futuristic transactions and activities. It helped us
in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of activities in many ways possible.

4- Diligence
a computer is free from tiredness, lack of concentration, fatigue, etc. It can work
for hours without creating any error. If millions of calculations are to be performed,
a computer will perform every calculation with the same accuracy. Due to this
capability it overpowers human being in routine type of work.

5- Versatile
The computer is versatile because it can perform multiple tasks at once. We can use it
for multimedia, word processing, communication, printing, and other tasks without closing
them off.

6- Automatic
Computer is an automatic machine. It can ability to perform the given task
automatically. Once a program is given to computer i.e. stored in computer
memory, the program and instruction can control the program execution without
human interaction.
7- Power of Remembering

A computer can store and recall any amount of information because of its
secondary storage (a type of detachable memory) capability. It can retain a piece of
information as long as a user desires and the user can recall the information
whenever required. Computers operate on the concept of “stored programs”.
Instructions of a program are stored in memory locations. They are picked up one by
one and are executed, under the direction of the control unit, without human
intervention, making the processing automatic.

8- No feeling
No Feel is also one of the important qualities of a computer system, because the
computer is not a human being that has feelings. No matter how much work you do
with the computer system, the computer system will never tell you that now I am
tired, now I will not work.

9- Multitasking
A user can do different types of tasks on the computer at the same time. Like we
are using MS Word in computer as well as listening to songs and also getting
printouts.

10- Electronic
Computer has minimum number of moving parts that makes it easy to use and
carry him wherever you want and your work.
