Automatic Creation of Asset/Equipment Master by Synchronization – S/4HANA Plant

the required configuration for the auto generation of Asset Master when an Equipment Master is created and
vice versa.

In SPRO we will go to Asset accounting-> Master data-> Automatic creation of equipment master records

We will choose asset class 2000 “machinery”.

In the next window of asset class, we will select the appropriate Equipment category. For this demo I will select
M ‘Machines’.

We well select direct synchronization after saving in both drop downs.

Now we will create an Equipment through IE01. Equipment category will be M.

As we have selected category M which corresponds to the settings in customization, thus the Asset field gets
grayed out as it will be generated automatically.
As we saved the equipment the asset was automatically created and is shown in display window AS03. We can
also double check the link between Asset and Equipment through the following path in ‘More’ dropdown.

Equipment master has generated Asset master and both of them have been linked.
Now we will try it from the opposite direction, by creating the Asset First through AS01. We will use the asset
class 2000 as the customization was done on this.

Enter the description and the cost center then Save. As we save, the Equipment master is automatically
generated.
We can also double check the link between Asset and Equipment through the following path in ‘More’
dropdown.

Asset master has generated Equipment master and both of them have been linked.
Synchronize Equipment creation with Asset master Integration Document

Purpose: – Integration from Asset to Equipment master for known to Equipment depreciation
Asset cost during Audit in organization and Account dept. also known to Asset master record
according Plant section and location wise in organization, cost can easily settlement to Asset.

Application: Whenever Accounts dept. (FI Consultant) will create to Asset with class,
system automatically create Equipment with different fields integration
i.e. Equipment cat., Description, Object type, location etc as per your assignment.

Step1: Link between Equipment category and object type to Asset Class from TC-
S_ALR_87099871.
And Accounts dept. will transfer Equipment no to Maintenance dept. and there is both
synchronization changes allow to Equipment and Asset master as well as changes will reflect to
concern master.

Below are the objectives of automatic creation of asset/equipment master

• efficiently manage assets and reduce operating costs

• improves asset utilization,
• minimizes manual intervention and helps keep asset record information more accurate.
