SCHOOL BRIGADA PAGBASA PLAN


I. Rationale : Reading, as we all know, is an important skill of an individual which will help them deal with any situations. It is the start of opening our
children’s imagination that will develop their sense of thinking critically and creatively. It will help them in enhancing their vocabulary. According
to the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Philippines, among 79 participating countries, scored the lowest in reading
comprehension. Brigada Pagbasa is one way of the Department of Education in enriching the vocabularies and reading comprehension of its
learners. It is a program of the DepEd during Brigada Eskwela with the coordination of the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Reading Coordinator,
and the Reading teachers.

II. Goals : To enhance the skills of our learners in reading and improve their comprehension skills.
Provide opportunity to community partners in nation building by being a volunteer tutor reader and donor.
