Blockchain is one of the most prominent topic in the

world today. This is because, the blockchain technology
offers a way for untrusted parties to reach consensus on
a common digital history. A common digital history is so
important because digital assets and transactions are in
theory easily faked or duplicated. Blockchain technology
solves this problem without using a trusted intermediary.

GearProtocol as a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform

was mainly developed to provide digital solutions to the
traditional system of farming. This platform is focused
on leveraging the concept of the traditional farming to
bring more adoption to the blockchain technology by
the use of immutable ERC20 based smart contracts.

 WHY DEFI?

DeFi as a major technological revolution in the human

society has actually brought about a significant increase
in production efficiency and even a reduction in cost.
The term “DeFi” simply represents the use of blockchain
technologies to replace the traditional financial system 
with program codes, hereby maximizing the efficiency
of financial services and minimizing costs.

Once a DeFi smart contract is up and running, even the

project developers cannot take funds away from the
capital pool. Everything will be executed in accordance
with the codes, including their commission rates, which
are specified in the contract and taken as profit.

The Gear Protocol Platform mainly features the following;

Digital Farming
The platform is designed to facilitate the digital
farming of it's native token (GEAR). Here, you’ d
have to put your GEAR to work by farming it for
harvest returns.

DeFi
The GEAR contract is completely decentralized
and immutable, therefore maximizing the true
efficiency of financial services and minimizing 
costs.

Store of Value
Digital farming as the core feature of the GEAR
platform will make the value of it's native token
appreciate into the future.

All transactions within the GEAR platform attracts a

network fee of 3%.

To transfer 1000 GEAR token, receiver receives only

970 GEAR token while 30 GEAR token as the network
fee gets distributed to the GEAR farming pool.

GEAR FARMING v1

GearFarming v1 is the core feature of the platform where

users on the network can put the native token (GEAR) of
the platform to work by farming it for harvest returns
overtime.
The major terms used in the GearFarming v1 are briefly
explained below;

Farm
The term "farm" is synonymous to "stake". When you
farm your GEAR token, you'd be eligible to receive
harvest rewards from GEAR harvest pool.

Unfarm
The term "unfarm" is synonymous to "unstake". When
you unfarm your GEAR token, you will be uneligible
to receive harvest rewards from GEAR harvest pool.

Unharvested Rewards
This is used to determine a user’ s harvest rewards for
the duration the user has been farming. The longer
the farming duration, the more the rewards grow.

GEARFARMING v1

Harvest
This is used by a user to claim his/her UnpaidHarvest.
All harvest process attracts a network fee of 1% of the
harvested GEAR token. This fee is distributed to the
platform's developer.

Important:

There is zero network fee attached to farming and

unfarming GEAR token. Only a 1% network fee applies
to all harvests on the platform.

GEAR farming is so flexible that when you farm, you'd

still have your GEAR token within your personal wallet.

While farming, if you transfer/receive or sell/buy more

GEAR token, the system automatically updates your
staked token for you.
