It Report Writing Guide-1
FACULTY OF SCIENCE
While in industry students are advised to keep a log-book in which daily activities are
recorded. A daily activity record book can be used but must have the format of the official
log-book provided at the Faculty of Science. This helps students to produce a report at the
end of IT period. The IT report must be endorsed by the Supervisor/Instructor in Industry and
must be submitted to the University Inspector within the first week of Semester 1 of the
subsequent academic year. Reports must be written in Times New Romans of font number 12
and double-spaced. Reports should include the following:
1. Title page
The title page should have the following words or phrases for:
Kyambogo University,
Industrial Training Report,
Name of Student,
Reg. No.
Year of study
Program of Study,
Name of Industry,
2. Declaration
8. Challenges
A student is expected to give the challenges that were encountered during the training
exercise.
9. Conclusion
The IT report should be ended by mentioning your views based on the experience about
the place of training, the training itself or the training environment, financing and
duration, the support from University and the Industry. Give your critical view of the
activities and experiences.
10. Recommendations
Suggest possible way forward to foster the activities of the Industry, the University, the
training etc to ensure long term and sustained continuity of the Industry and activities.
11. References
Include any documents e.g Text books, manuals, website, e.t.c that you may have used
during training. (Here you only state Author’s name, year of publication, Title,
Edition/Volume, publisher)
12. Appendices
The first appendix should be the used pages of the log book.
Any other relevant document used can also be included.
