User Entities (UE)

FAQ: How do I know which UE to use?

• Use the HCM Extracts User Entity XLS to view an entire list of
HCM user entities.
• Use the Attribute Name column to search for the information

HCM Data Objects

• DBIs are logically grouped in the HCM Data Objects

hierarchy.
• Drag and drop system to create an extract using the required
DBIs.
• Data groups and attributes automatically connected based on
known relationships.

• Review automatically generated connections in the Validate

page. Connections are created if the same DBIs exist across
data groups.

Generating and Customizing DBIs

• Use HCM Extracts with seeded flexfields

– Available as segments and attributes
• Use the Generate Database Items process for customer-
defined flexfields
• Requesting new DBIs:
– Verify that the required DBI is not available in MOS Doc ID:
1559127.1
– Raise an SR to request a bug on the owning product
— Specify requirement, use case, alternate details explored

Changes-Only Extract

• Choose different extract modes to extract only changed data.

• Configure the PER_EXT_CHANGES_ONLY lookup with the
Changes Only parameter to select different extract modes
when submitting extracts.
• Set up multi-threading details in the extract definition for
comparison.
• Manipulate the output in a changes-only extract to either
exclude or include certain attributes, regardless of whether the
attribute has changed or not.

Best Practices: Changes-Only

Context binding for

parameters:
1. Recursive extract runs
need date parameters to
increment and to not
include static values
2. Use context binding for
parameters that increment
the values dynamically
