Question: How does our point of view influence how we see things?
Activities:

1. Look at the pictures and explain how they reflect Costa Rica’s identity.

• Biodiversity, flora and Fauna, national symbol.

2. Why do you think Costa Rica is seen as one of the happiest countries in the world? Do you think
this is true? Explain.

• We think this is true because we have hope, democracy, we are an independent country and have
a good education.

3. Discuss with a partner if the pictures reflect the following quotation:

4. Do you think all Costa Ricans are treated equally? Read the quotation and justify your answer.

• We think that it is false because we think people in this country is extremely independent and is a
very sexism and there a lot of xenophobe people.

5. Read the following information about the 7 Happiest Countries in the World and establish a
comparison among them.Happiest Countries in the World 2022 (worldpopulationreview.com)
• Finland:
▪ Ranks as the world´s happiest country the 2021 report.
▪ The citizens of Finland are strong feelings, communal, support and mutual trout.
▪ The citizens of Finland´s helping with Covid-19.
▪ They are free to make their own choices and showed minimal suspicion of
government corruption.
• Denmark:
▪ Is the second happiest country in the world.
▪ Six variables are quite comparable to those or Finland.
▪ The claim the top spot in the near future.
▪ The leader in multiple categories like GDP per capita, generosity and perceived lack
of complication.
• Switzerland:
▪ Is the third happiest country in the world.
▪ The Swiss are very healthy.
▪ Have a very high median salary.
▪ Have a strong sense community sale and clean.
• Iceland:
▪ Is the fourth happiest country in the world.
▪ The highest feeling of social support.
▪ Had the second highest generosity score.
• Netherlands:
▪ Fifth happiest country in the world.
▪ Netherland score higher in the generosity category.
▪ Have an impressive sack of perceived corruption.
• Norway:
▪ Sixth happiest countries in the world.
▪ Their government thanks to universal healthcare and free college tuition.
▪ They enjoy a healthy work- life balance.
▪ A low crime rate and strong sense of community.
• Sweden:
▪ Seventh happiest countries in the world.
▪ If not quite highest, in virtually every category measured.
▪ A higher lack of corruption score than all.
▪ Fourth-highest life expectancy in the top seven.
