(1) What is Pyridazine?

Pyridazine is a heterocyclic organic compound with

the molecular formula (CH)4N2. It contains a six-
membered ring with two adjacent nitrogen atoms
and is aromatic.
Pyridazines are heterocyclic compounds with an N-
N bond in their ring structure. that are structurally
important in several biologically active substances
with a broad range of biological and
pharmaceutical activities.

Systematic IUPAC name: 1,2-Diazabenzene
Other names:
1,2-Diazine
Orthodiazine
Oizine
Melting point: −8 °C
Boiling point: 208 °C
Synthesis of
Pyridazine
Historically, pyridazines were first named by Knorr
, while Fischer
prepared the first substituted compounds but Tauber was
the first to synthesize the
unsubstituted pyridazine.
Synthesis: The strategy adopted in the synthesis is the reaction of
hydrazine with the 1,4-diketone to give dihydropyridine. Oxidation of
the dihydropyridine then gives the pyridazine. Carrying out oxidation at
this point avoids a cis double bond problem.

How does pyridazine
work against cancer?
Pyridazine derivatives like pyridopyridazine inhibit the scar
cell proliferation. The cancer cells have their own system of
cell reproduction, it's quist different from healthy cells. So,
Pyridaizine inhibit the signals which is associated with
cancer cell proliferation. Thus, pyridazine works.
