School CI Team Charter: Level Up Core
BRIEF Educators, learners, and their parents around the world are feeling
BACKGROUND the extraordinary ripple effect of the novel coronavirus as schools conform
to Distance Learning Modalities in order to facilitate learning and cope
with the global pandemic.
During this unprecedented time, the Department of Education is
doing its best to provide quality education for all even during these
difficult times.
In a span of days and weeks, Bacong Ibaba Elementary School have
tried to document and formulate solutions that could help parents and
learners navigate through the plethora of challenges facing education
during pandemic by building a much stronger connections with parents,
learners and stakeholders.
Based on previous school performance data, BIBIES has low
reading index as reflected by 68% average Frustration Level from KS1 to
KS2. Prevention even during trying times of pandemic must be done in
order to prevent worsening of the scenario. Dialogues with parents have
given teachers a cue on how to give solution to this problem.
A Community Involvement Project to Improve Learners’ Reading
Level dubbed as LEVEL UP CORE was conceptualized by providing real-
time communication, teachers visibility, and a meeting place for learning
consultations. The primary aim of the program was to improve reading
readiness and academic performance among Grade 1 learners through
Level Up Core.
