Paragraph Writing Skills-Section 62

A Team for Life

Throughout our lives, we get to meet and communicate with a huge

number of people. Those people can be only acquaintances we only
know little about, friends we’ve known for a good amount of time, very
close friends we’ve shared many memories with, or even family
members like our parents, siblings, cousins and more. Of course, having
many people we know in our lives means we deal with many different
kinds of people, some of which may be beneficial for us in different
ways, or may harm us and affect our lives and friendships. In this topic,
I’m going to mention five of my friends, each of which play a special
role in our friendship.

 The Listener: My friend Malak has always been a good listener.

Even though I’ve known her for 2 years only, she is willing to
listen to me all the time and will let me freely talk about any topic
and at any time. Also, she keeps an eye on me without me noticing,
for example, at times when I’m busy and don’t have time to chat,
she would come to me and ask me ‘hey, is everything okay?’.
Moreover, she can always tell if I’m not feeling good and would
force me to tell her what’s bothering me and she will listen to me
all the way until I’m done talking.
 The Reporter: My cousin Dunia, who is also part of our friends’
group, likes to post everything we do online. Whether we go out to
a restaurant, swimming, and even in holidays when we celebrate
with our families, she takes pictures and videos all the time, and
upload them on many social media platforms, including Facebook,
Instagram, and Snapchat. However, she really annoys me when she
takes pictures of food at a restaurant, making me wait before
starting eating. One time, she made me wait a whole 2 minutes
before beginning eating, and I was really fuming at that time.
 The Teacher: My boss Milad, who is also one of my best friends,
always educates me on many different topics and gives me advices
about major in university, which is medicine. He is 5 years older
than me, and that’s definitely an important factor as he has much
more experience than I do, and although he studied nursing for 2
years only before switching majors, he always amazes me with the
amount of knowledge he has about medicine.
 The Joker: Whenever I’m sad or not feeling very good, I like to go
out with my friend Jiad; Because he always has a way to cheer me
up when I’m feeling down. What I like about him the most is that
he always spreads positive energy by cracking funny jokes out of
nowhere, but at the same time knows when it’s not the best time to
say something that may be funny to someone, but offensive to
someone else. Once I was very sad, and he made sure to lift my
mood up and make me happy again.
 The Long-Timer: If I want to tell a secret to someone, the only
person I would go to is my class mate from grade one to twelve,
and my best friend Tareq. We’ve known each other for a very long
time that we trust each other so much. In the past when we were at
school, I had my phone in my backpack and it made a noise, and
although Tareq knew it was my phone, he refused to tell the
teacher that it was my phone that made a sound, and that’s when I
knew he was loyal and credible.

I’m blessed to have many friends and people who are close to me, and
these 5 people I mentioned above are the ones I’m most happy about.
It’s really good to have people with different roles who are always there
to help you elevate to different levels, even though sometimes these
roles can have a slightly bad effect.
