l. The Department of Education (DepBd) announced through Depa-rtment
Memorardum (DM) No. 36, s.2022 the Rcrcheduliag of the Phtltppiner' Hocting
of the 12th AaEAN Schools Clames and DM 42, s. 2022 titied Phlllppiaer'
Particlpatlon and Eclectloa of the UcEbers of th,e Delcgatlon to the 12th
ASEAII Schools Gamer.
2. However, based on the objective assessment of the current COVID-1g
Pandemic situation, as well as its impact on Philippine economy, the Department
announces the defermert ofthe Phtlipptaea' hoctlng of thls year's internatloaal
rchool rportr compcutlor participated by the ASEAN School Sports Council (ASSC)
member-countries.
3. At present, the Philippines is experiencing another surge in COVID- 19 cases
with the detection of a significant number of Omicron BA.5 subvariant by the
Departrnent of Health. Moreover, the impact of the COVID- 19 Pandemic on the
country's economy has alTected the capability to host the intemational school sports
event.

4. The National Executive Committee (NEC) and the different technical working
committees constituted for the hosting of the l2th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) are
hereby retracted.
5. Further, all scheduled activities leading to the l2th ASG are suspended.

6. All related issuances inconsistent with this Memorandum are repea.led,

rescinded, and modilied accordingy.

7. lmmediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired,
