Instructions to Candidates to Adhere Under Covid-19 Prevention Guideline

The authority of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka advises all candidates to strictly follow the
instructions in place in conforming to the guidelines issued by the Government under the prevention of
Covid-19 pandemic. Further, it requests candidates to discipline and to listen to the directives already
released and to be released relevant to the Examination. Do not behave in a manner that leads to posing
risks to the health of the candidate himself and others.

Instructions:
1. The candidate should contact the following officials prior to the date of examination if
she/he has any signs of fever/respiratory symptoms.

2. It is highly advisable to use your own/private transport rather than public transport systems. If you
are compelled to use public transport, be sure that you find a seat in the bus/train in conforming to
the social distancing guidelines given by the State.

3. Always keep at least one-meter (1M) distance, right throughout. Observe and adhere to
respiratory etiquettes (especially regarding cough, sneeze, touching nose and mask, etc.)

4. It is mandatory to wear a face mask (and preferably a face shield) and should not touch your face
with unwashed hands. Wear a clean, safe and hygienic mask right throughout – from the moment
leaving and until returning home. However, if requested by an authority for an identification purpose,
you should oblige to remove it for a moment and you should wear it again. The mask should
completely cover the nose and the mouth.

5. Information document (Form 1 - Attached herewith): you should have downloaded, printed
and filled it at home and bring it along with you to the Examination hall. It is necessary you submit
one duly filled information document before every examination until your examination is over.

Do not expect to fill it at the IESL premises or Examination hall. When filling the information
form, true information and clear handwriting is necessary. Submit this form to the officer at
the entrance. Without this form duly filled will not be permitted to you at the gate.

6. Body temperature will be measured before entering the institution/examination location. Please
corporate with the IESL staff in doing this.

7. Handwashing facility or/and sanitizing hand rub dispensers are available at the entrance and
several other locations within the premises. Make sure to use them when you enter the
institution/examination location.

8. A tray filled with sanitizing chemicals has been placed at the entrance, you should walk over it
avoiding germs spreading by shoes.

9. Before entering the examination hall, you should attend to all your personal matters.

10.Nobody is permitted to exchange/borrow any items before or during the examination.

11. As soon as you enter to the premises take your stationaries, NIC, and Student ID, water bottle
and calculator out of the bag and leave the bag at the stipulated place. You should not bring any
valuable items from home, and the institution is not responsible for any losses.

12. Use your own pens. Make sure that you do not use pens that can lead to smudging on the
paper.

13. Immediately you take your seat at the examination hall leave your NIC/Student ID card on the
desk visibly for invigilator to identify you at 1 M distance. Fill the admission form, which is slightly
different this time compared to that in the past. Drop in to the box when it is brought to you during the
examination.

14.Use writing papers available at the examination hall sparingly, and do not request additional
writing papers unless you consume what is already with you. Any documents should not be removed
from the desk unless the supervisor permits.

15.Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination hall half an hour after the commencement
and before half an hour of the conclusion of the examination under any circumstances.

16.Please be kind enough to leave the premises as soon as your work is done. Do not linger
unnecessarily within the premises before and after the examination, do not crowd when entering or
leaving the examination hall as well as within the IESL premises.

17.Bring your own water bottle. Have your meal before you enter into the IESL building. No canteen
facility will be available under the present circumstances of the country.

18.Examination Centre is as mentioned in your admission. This location may change under
special circumstances with prior notice.

19. if there are special notices they will be sent to the email address provided at the time of
registering for the examination, especially considering the prevailing situation in the country.
Therefore, you should read your emails regularly.

Special Note:

According to the directions issued be the Health Authorities, those who live in lockdown
areas should not come to the examination. They should inform IESL Membership Division
(mem.div@iesl.lk) or the respective Chapter about it on the day of the examination, followed
by a letter within three weeks from the date of the examination issued by the PHI of the area
indicating the lockdown duration.
