Upon completing activity 1, you were able to prepare yourself for the
concepts that we will discuss today.

only differ in form.
When a whole quantity or set is divided into parts, each part is called a

fraction. A fraction is a number written in the form , where a and b are whole

numbers but b cannot be zero. The number on top, a is called the numerator,
and the number below b is called the denominator.
Things to ponder
Decimals, Fractions, and Percentages are just different ways of presenting the
same value. To prove, you must learn how to convert or express a value into
different forms.
To develop your conversion skills please read with understanding the following
lessons.
