PICTURE, PICTURE 1,2,3!

• The teacher will ask the learners to prepare and get ready with the
pictures she gave as an advanced assignment. (Pictures can be
cut-outs from magazines or print outs; the teacher will just give
ideas about the pictures to be prepared)
• The students will be instructed to do the following:

Step 1. Instruct the learners to wait for the given signal; they are to
raise one picture at a time and find a partner who holds a picture
that he or she thinks is related with the picture he is holding. The
student will have to mention the name that he/she chose.
Step 2. Once students are in pairs, a second signal will be given.
Students in pairs will now look for another pair who they think is
related with them.

Step 3 Once students are in groups of four, they must discuss

among themselves the relationship of the pictures they hold.

Examples:
Hammer:nail :: screwdrivers: screws ( tool)
cowardly: brave: foolish:wise (antonyms)
day:night :: winter: summer ( times)

Collie:dog :: motorcycle:vehicle ( classification)

wet floor:fall :: texting while driving:car crash

(cause-effect relationship)
study:good grades::tickle :laugh ( action/ result )
Students need to share their analogy grouping with the class and tell the
relationship among the four pictures. (Students will be given the chance
to speak and express their answers)
After sharing their analogy grouping, the teacher asks the following
questions:
How did you find the activity?
How did you figure out the first pair of pictures?
What types of analogies did you encounter on this activity?

The teacher will give a short review on the types of analogies leading to
the objective.
B. Development (Advance instruction for students: The teacher will ask the learners to
(1 day) download Canva and Analogy Quiz in Google Play for group activities.)
Learners will be asked to watch this video twice.
