Consider an industry of your own choice. Download all the relevant data (yahoo finance,
money control, google finance, RBI data, etc), literature and reports from the internet and then
perform an Economic Analysis of the industry.
Your focus in the report should be on the following factors:
1. What is the market structure in which the firm is operating and who are its major rivals?
2. What are its sales, profit, major costs (short and long-run) and expected future profits?
3. Based on the current and future economic environment, what is the market strategy,
pricing strategy, etc of the firm?
4. How different economic factors can affect the firm.
5. Given that we have economic policy uncertainty data available, can you use this data
to say anything about your industry?
6. If possible, you can use the concepts of forecasting as well
Note:
Based on the availability of data and the time, each group should make an industry-specific
report. Not necessarily all the points can be incorporated but you should try to make your report
the best
The size of the report should not be more than 15 pages and it should be checked for plagiarism.
No screenshots of tables or figures are allowed. Please make sure that your report is consistent,
written in a cogent manner and there are no unnecessary details to fill the pages. Whatever is
written in the report should be owned by the group. No two groups can have the same industry
or similar type of analysis. Each group should do a separate analysis decided unanimously
within the group.
All those groups who have a similar kind of analysis will score the lowest.
Assignments exceeding 15 pages will not be considered for evaluation.
The last date of submission of the report is 27th August. Any assignment submitted after 12:30
AM will not be considered.
